DescriptionThe whole story▼
Motocross is a dirty sport, and a Kawasaki KX250F front brake spends race day buried in mud, sprayed with sand and roost, and dunked in puddles. For that environment, Accossato makes the AGPA51 front pad in its Off-road sintered mixture, coded STMX. It fits the KX250F from 2004 to 2022 and is intended for racers and serious practice riders on motocross tracks of every kind, from clay to deep sand.
Key Features
- Front pads AGPA51 for the Kawasaki KX250F, 2004 to 2022
- STMX compound, SKU AGPA51STMX
- Accossato's compound for off-road riders
- Made for mud, sand and roost
- For motocross racing and hard practice
- Rear STMX pad: AGPP106
- Plate also produced as OR, ST and EV1
- No ABE held by us; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
The Italian maker keeps its own wording short here: STMX is the mixture it builds for riders who leave the tarmac. That single sentence is all we pass on about the friction material itself. Like every Accossato pad, this one is also claimed to wear slowly, to stay stable when hot because it does not build up excessive heat, and to pull the bike up hard. On the motocross Kawasaki, it arrives mounted on the regular AGPA51 plate.
Roost, Ruts and Deep Sand
On a motocross track, the KX250F front brake is used hard at the end of every straight and before every rutted corner. The caliper sits right in the path of roost from other bikes, and on a sand track, fine grit gets everywhere. A compound intended for off-road use is built to cope with those conditions.
Dropping into a deep rut takes commitment: the rider needs a strong, consistent front brake to set the bike up before dropping in. A pad that keeps working through dirt and water gives that consistency lap after lap.
After the race, clean the bike thoroughly. Rinse mud and sand from the caliper, check that the pads move freely and look for grit scoring on the disc. Measure the pad depth before the next event, and clean the pistons before pushing them back when fitting a new set.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPA51 for the front of the Kawasaki KX250F from 2004 to 2022, including later bikes badged KX 250. The rear takes AGPP106, and Accossato also catalogues the DK060 disc for this model. Each box covers one caliper.
Road Approval
We have no ABE or German test documentation for AGPA51STMX. The pads are sold for off-road competition use.
Scope of Delivery
