A panel dropped into an unmodified airbox does not make a standard motorcycle noticeably stronger; it can only hand back the resistance it introduced itself. The useful part is that the resistance stops drifting. A paper element begins at its lowest value and climbs from there until somebody discards it in a condition nobody measured; a washable weave has a reference state that an air line restores, so every interval starts where the last one did. Roughly double the cloth area works in the same direction — a given quantity of dust covers a smaller share of it before anything changes.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eCare and cleaning\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eCompressed air, held against the clean face of the PM154S and blown outward, is the whole service in normal use. Dry it right through in moving air alone — heat guns, radiators and flames destroy polyester far more reliably than dust ever will.
