Every other Spark exhaust on this page replaces the BMW manifold. This one does not — GBM0702T is a slip-on that bolts straight onto the original catalysed collector. It is the cheapest route to a Spark-looking S1000RR, it takes 1.4 kg off, and the catalytic converter stays exactly where BMW put it.
Key Features
- Grid-O titanium silencer designed to fit the original catalysed BMW collector.
- 0.7 kg against 2.1 kg for the standard silencer — 1.4 kg saved.
- No manifold work, no collector to buy, no lambda sensors to relocate.
- The catalytic converter in the original collector is untouched.
- Mesh end cap and visible TIG welds, the same Grid-O detailing as the full race silencers.
- Fits the S1000RR, M1000RR, M1000R and S1000R.
Who This Is For
A rider who wants the look and the weight saving without a four-figure bill or a dyno appointment. Because the standard collector and its catalyst stay in place, the fuelling stays much closer to what the ECU expects than it would with a full race system — you are changing the last section of the exhaust, not the whole gas path.
What it will not do is match the performance of the full systems on this page. Those replace the collector precisely because that is where most of the gain lives. This is the sensible middle option, and Spark builds it because a lot of people want exactly that.
What Happens to the Fuelling
This is the question people ask about any slip-on, and the answer for this one is reassuring rather than exciting. The original collector still carries both lambda sensors and the catalyst, so the closed-loop fuelling the ECU runs at part throttle sees roughly what it saw before. Full-throttle mapping is open-loop and will shift slightly with the freer silencer, but not to the point where the bike runs badly.
That is a different proposition from a full race system, which removes the catalyst and changes the collector geometry — those genuinely want a map. If you are not planning a dyno session, this is the Spark exhaust that fits that plan.
Build Quality & Materials
Titanium sleeve, perforated inner tube, inner end cap and the Grid-O mesh — the same silencer construction Spark uses on its race systems, adapted at the inlet to meet the BMW collector rather than a Spark one. Weld seams are left visible, as on the rest of the Grid-O family.
Fitment & Compatibility
BMW S1000RR (2019-2026), M1000RR, M1000R and, on Spark's own listing, the S1000R. It requires the original collector to be in place — if you have already fitted a Spark manifold, order the silencer group SGCM30215007T instead.
Road Approval
Spark supplies no EC certificate for this slip-on. Keeping the original catalyst is good for the engine's fuelling but it does not make the part road legal on its own — this remains a track item.
