DescriptionThe whole story▼
Shaft 12/468.6, Öhlins part number 04767-69. The damper shaft carries the piston and passes through the seal head, so its surface finish decides how long the seals last.
Key Features
- Original Öhlins service part
- Diameter 12 mm
- Length 468.6 mm
- Öhlins part number 04767-69
What It Is
This one measures 12 mm, 468.6 mm, and those figures are what separate it from the neighbouring numbers. Surface hardness is what lets the shaft survive thousands of cycles through a seal. Its polished section runs directly in the seal, so any mark there ends the seal's life quickly. The damper shaft carries the piston through the oil and out through the seal head.
Why the Original
This is an original Öhlins part, not an aftermarket equivalent — the tolerances are the ones the unit was assembled to. Öhlins publishes dimensions for its service parts so a workshop can verify before it fits. Service parts are ordered per piece unless stated otherwise. The Öhlins exploded view names the number for each position; we can look it up if you do not have it.
Identifying the Right Part
Order under 04767-69. Where several sizes share a description, only the number separates them. The published dimensions are diameter 12 mm, length 468.6 mm — measure the old part against them if you are unsure. This is a part that is replaced rather than repaired. Any mark on the polished section is a reason to replace rather than to reassemble.
Fitting and Setup Service
Öhlins recommends that its units are serviced by an authorised centre. We are one: rebuild, revalve and setup all happen in our own workshop.
