DescriptionThe whole story▼
The K-Tech TRDS-R Closed Cartridge Kit for the Honda CBR 600 RR (2017–2025) is engineered around advanced Through-Rod technology to deliver suspension that works tirelessly over a full race distance, giving rider and technician a consistent, readable platform from the first lap to the last. Whether you are chasing lap times under a budget cap or running long stints at events like the Isle of Man TT, the TRDS-R rewards patience and setup work with ride quality that never fades.
Key Features
- Through-Rod (TRDS-R) technology provides exceptional damping transparency — rider and technician feel exactly what the front end is doing at all times, making setup changes faster and more confident.
- The 'R' stands for Regulation, reflecting the system's precision and adaptability for championship-spec builds operating within strict cost and equipment rules.
- Compact closed-cartridge design is among the lightest in its class, reducing unsprung weight and improving front-end feel during hard braking and corner entry.
- Superior heat dissipation keeps damping characteristics consistent throughout a race, eliminating the subtle performance drift that heat-soak causes in conventional cartridge designs.
- 16-click compression and 16-click rebound adjustment (suggested base settings) combined with 18 mm of preload adjustment deliver a wide, fine-grained tuning range for every circuit and condition.
- Supplied complete with a matched spring set, so the kit is ready to build and tune without hunting for separate components.
All-Day Performance Without Compromise
Heat management is often the overlooked variable in front fork performance. As a race progresses, rising oil temperatures in a conventional cartridge can subtly alter damping rates — a change neither rider nor data system catches immediately. The TRDS-R's compact cartridge geometry maximises surface area relative to oil volume, shedding heat efficiently and maintaining the damping curve the technician dialled in at the start of the session. The result is a front end the rider can trust through the final corner of the final lap just as much as the first.
Through-Rod Technology Explained
Unlike a conventional cartridge where only one end of the damper rod is active, Through-Rod technology runs the rod through the full length of the cartridge. This equalises the oil volumes on both sides of the piston, eliminating cavitation risk and allowing genuinely independent, precise adjustment of compression and rebound without cross-influence. Riders and technicians gain a clear, honest read on front fork behaviour — a significant advantage when working through a set-up programme under time pressure.
