The RC8 R is the only superbike KTM has built. The JP PD KT032 replaces its right-hand switch with milled Ergal on a universal clamp pattern.

A Seventy-Five Degree V-Twin
KTM built the RC8 around an LC8 twin at 75 degrees rather than the 90 that Ducati uses, which made the engine shorter and the chassis more compact. The R version made 175 hp from 1195 cc, which was competitive with anything at the time.
Kiska's Angular Bodywork
Nothing else on sale looked remotely like it. The RC8's folded, faceted fairing divided opinion completely and has aged into something people now describe as distinctive rather than strange. It remains instantly identifiable from any distance.
Adjustable Everything
KTM made the footrests, the bars, the seat and even the subframe height adjustable, which was unusual on a superbike and reflects the company's enduro background. Owners set these bikes up around themselves in a way few sports bikes allow.
Now a Track Bike
An RC8 R costs very little today and remains genuinely quick. A growing number are being converted for circuit use, which puts their switchgear through pit lane operation and hot washing rather than years of gentle road miles.
Universal Clamp Pattern
A bike of this age has usually had its front brake revised at least once, and there is no reliable way to know which clamp geometry a used example arrived with. The universal plate removes the question entirely.
Fifteen-Year-Old Plastic
The original housing has not broken. The material has hardened, the two clipped halves have developed a fraction of play, and the buttons that straddle them stopped confirming anything years ago without the rider registering it.
Black Anodised
A single finish. On a motorcycle whose bodywork is as visually assertive as the RC8's, a cockpit component that draws no attention at all is generally what owners choose.
