DescriptionThe whole story▼

A complete rear section with the supporting arms moulded in, replacing the seat unit and the structure beneath it in one piece. Fullsix sells it as a racing component and it is by a long way the most expensive item made for this bike.

Key Features

  • Rear section and support arms moulded as one piece
  • Autoclave-cured 200 Plain weave, no secondary bonding
  • Takes the place of the seat unit and the frame beneath it
  • Sold by Fullsix as competition equipment
  • The 1299 shares this number

The Question This Part Gets Asked About Most

A lot of 959s see circuit use, and a lot of their owners have seen this tail in a paddock and wondered. The honest answer is that it belongs on a bike already in race trim, with the standard subframe removed, and not on a registered motorcycle.

Removing the subframe of a road bike and replacing it with a component the manufacturer sells for competition is a change to the structure the rider sits on. No market treats that as a bolt-on accessory, and Fullsix supplies no documentation that would support it.

What to Establish Before Ordering

Decide what the bike is for. On a dedicated track machine this is a well-understood upgrade. On a road-registered 959 it needs a conversation with your inspection authority first and probably an engineer's assessment, and neither will be easy without paperwork from the manufacturer.

Fitment and Compatibility

Ducati 959 Panigale, 2016 to 2019, on a machine already stripped for competition. Nothing else is in the box: no seat, no padding, no hardware, unless the manufacturer says otherwise on the day.

Road Approval

Fullsix publishes neither an ABE nor an EC type-approval number for this part and sells it as a racing component. It is not a road part and this listing does not present it as one.

Fitting

Not a garage job. Whoever does it should have done one before, should measure the mounting faces rather than eyeball them, and should torque every fastener to a figure rather than to a feeling.
