DescriptionThe whole story▼

The left-hand partner for the current S1000R, covering the clutch lever. Fitted with its opposite number it frames the cockpit symmetrically; fitted alone it protects the lever that a wall or a neighbouring handlebar is most likely to reach.

Key Features

  • Left-hand lever guard for the 2021-2026 bar ends, Leo design
  • 200 Plain in clear coat or matt; 245 Twill in clear coat, matt or twill satin
  • Autoclave-cured laminate, identical in section to the right-hand article
  • Clutch lever and perch unmodified
  • Shared with the S1000RR of the same period

The Side That Meets the Garage

Most motorcycles are wheeled into a garage or a van with the rider on the left, and most fall towards the side stand, which is also the left. Between them, those two facts explain why the clutch lever is broken more often than the brake lever on a machine that never sees a circuit.

For a road-only S1000R that is the honest argument for this guard over its partner — the opposite of the advice given for a track bike, and it follows from how the motorcycle is actually used.

Fitment and Compatibility

BMW S1000R, model years 2021 to 2026, left-hand side. Also fits the S1000RR of the same years. The right-hand guard is listed separately. Bar-end mirrors cannot be fitted alongside this guard in the same bar end.

Road Approval

Fullsix publishes neither an ABE nor an EC type-approval number for this part. Confirm the position for your own registration before road use, and check the technical regulations before competition use.

Twill Satin, Which Is Uncommon

This article is one of the few in the BMW range offered in twill satin, a lacquer that keeps some depth without reflecting. On a part sitting in the rider's peripheral vision throughout a ride, less reflection is worth more than it sounds.

Plain weave is available too, in clear coat and matt. Whatever is chosen, order both guards alike — a plain guard on one side and twill on the other is the sort of detail that looks like an accident, because it is one.
