DescriptionThe whole story▼

On a long tour with a passenger and full cases, a Yamaha Tracer 7 GT carries a lot of weight over its rear wheel, and the rear brake becomes an important partner to the front. Accossato rear pad AGPP88 in the Sintered (ST) compound is intended for that. Accossato lists AGPP88 for the Tracer 7 GT for 2021 and for 2021 to 2024. ST is designed to hold its grip level hot or cold and to bite well in the wet.

Key Features

  • AGPP88 rear pad in Sintered (ST) compound
  • For the Yamaha Tracer 7 GT, 2021-2024, per Accossato
  • Accossato: high, constant grip at high and low temperatures, good wet grip
  • Steady pedal feel with a full load
  • Useful on long descents and in rain
  • Two pads, a full rear set
  • Also made as OR

Construction and Material Quality

The Sintered compound, Accossato says, holds a high and constant grip level across temperatures and works well on wet discs. For the rear of a fully loaded touring GT, where the brake may be cold at the start of a descent and hot at the end, that consistency is the point. Accossato's general claims of long life, reduced fade and strong stopping are included as its statements.

Sharing the Load

With two people and full cases, a Tracer 7 GT's rear tyre carries far more weight than when solo, and the rear brake can safely do more of the work. Using it on long descents takes load off the front and keeps the bike level, which the passenger will appreciate. In the rain, applying the rear first settles the chassis before the front goes on. ST is designed to behave the same way throughout. For solo commuting, OR is quieter.

Touring Checks

On a long trip, look at the rear pads every couple of days and rinse the caliper after wet or dusty stages. Carry the correct spare set if you are heading somewhere remote.

Fitment and Compatibility

This rear set belongs to the touring version of the Tracer 7, model years 2021 to 2024 in the Accossato data. The GT carries a single caliper behind, so one box is the whole job there. The front end runs twin calipers on the AGPA97, catalogued from 2021 to 2026, and needs a box per side.

Road Approval

We hold no ABE or test certificate for AGPP88ST, and it is therefore sold for track and competition use.

Scope of Delivery

Two Sintered (ST) AGPP88 rear pads, a full set for the Tracer 7 GT.
