DescriptionThe whole story▼
At 19x21, this Accossato radial brake master cylinder uses the longest pivot distance Accossato offers on the 19 mm, dual-disc piston, giving the shortest lever stroke and the firmest pull in the range. Accossato positions the 21 mm setting purely for track and competition braking rather than road use, since the extra leverage distance that shortens the stroke also raises the hand force needed for the same braking pressure. Supplied with a folding lever, long version, with relieving eyelet, it targets riders chasing the most immediate possible brake response on a dedicated sportbike.
Key Features
- 19 mm piston diameter, suited to dual-disc front brake systems
- 21 mm pivot distance, the longest and firmest setting in the range
- Folding lever, long version, fitted with a relieving eyelet (RST)
- CNC-machined aluminium body with a natural anodised finish
- Offset riser that reduces master cylinder deflection during braking
- Passive lever stroke cut by more than 50 percent versus a standard radial unit
- Stainless steel mounting screws and a galvanised steel bleed valve
- Seals manufactured from Formula 1 compound material
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato builds this master cylinder from CNC-machined aluminium billet at its Italian plant, finishing the body in a natural anodised state. Stainless steel screws and a galvanised steel bleed valve form part of the hardware, while the seals are produced from Formula 1 compound to resist heat and brake fluid over sustained use. An offset riser is machined into the clamp to control flex under heavy braking, and the passive stroke, the travel before the pads engage the discs, is reduced by more than half compared with an ordinary radial master cylinder.
19x21: Maximum Leverage Distance for Track Braking
Of the four pivot distances Accossato lists for the 19 mm, dual-disc piston used here, 21 mm is the longest, and Accossato is explicit that this setting is not recommended for street use. The extra distance between the lever pivot and the pumping axis shortens the stroke needed to reach full braking pressure, which suits a rider chasing the most immediate possible bite on a closed circuit, but for the same hand force it also demands noticeably more effort than the 16 to 19 mm settings used elsewhere in the range, which is why Accossato reserves it for track and competition riding.
Fitment and Compatibility
Compatibility is confirmed for 65 motorcycles, concentrated on flagship sportbikes and super-naked machines such as the Ducati Panigale V4, Kawasaki Ninja H2, BMW S1000RR, Aprilia RSV4 Factory, Suzuki GSX-R1000R and Honda CBR1000RR. The Fitment tab gives the full model and year breakdown, since several ranges are covered across multiple generations. Riders fitting a motorcycle outside this list should check dual-disc braking, piston size and handlebar clamp diameter first.
Road Approval
This master cylinder has no ABE documented; it is intended for track and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
Supplied in the box is the Accossato radial brake master cylinder itself, assembled and ready to fit, together with its mounting hardware. The brake light switch is not included and can be ordered separately under part number ID001 or ID002. The fluid reservoir is likewise not included and is available separately in several styles to suit the handlebar layout.
