DescriptionThe whole story▼

This folding-lever version of the Accossato 15x18 radial brake master cylinder keeps the same 15 mm piston, sized by Accossato for naked and motard machines, and the same 18 mm pivot distance rated for both track and street use. The difference is purely mechanical: the lever folds back under an impact instead of holding its position, which suits riders who stunt, commute through tight traffic, or simply want extra protection if the bike tips over. It is supplied long, with a relieving eyelet.

Key Features

  • 15 mm piston diameter, suggested by Accossato for naked and motard bikes
  • 18 mm pivot distance, rated for track use and also recommended for street riding
  • Folding lever, long version, fitted with a relieving eyelet (RST)
  • CNC-machined aluminium body with a natural anodised finish
  • Offset riser that reduces master cylinder deflection during braking
  • Passive lever stroke cut by more than 50 percent versus a standard radial unit
  • Stainless steel mounting screws and a galvanised steel bleed valve
  • Seals manufactured from Formula 1 compound material

Construction and Material Quality

The body is CNC-machined from an aluminium billet in Italy and left with a natural anodised finish. Stainless steel screws, a galvanised steel bleed valve and Formula 1 compound seals form the hardware, chosen for resistance to heat and long-term brake fluid contact. An offset riser is built into the clamp to control flex under hard braking, and the lever mechanism is designed to reduce the passive stroke, the gap before the pads bite, by more than half against a conventional radial unit.

Why Naked and Motard Riders Often Choose a Folding Lever

Naked and motard machines using this 15 mm piston size are frequently ridden in urban traffic, used for light off-road excursions, or occasionally stunted, all situations where a lever is more likely to take a knock than on a track-only sportbike. A folding lever pivots away from that kind of impact instead of bending at the master cylinder body. Paired with the 18 mm pivot distance that Accossato rates for both track and street use, this version offers the same braking feel as the fixed-lever model with added day-to-day resilience.

Fitment and Compatibility

There is no named vehicle list for this part number; Accossato treats it as a general upgrade for naked and motard machines with a single-disc front brake in the appropriate size range rather than a model-specific fitment. Buyers should start from the bike already in front of them: measure the handlebar clamp (22 mm is standard on this class of machine), check that the brake runs one disc, and make sure the 15 mm piston suits the fluid volume the current calliper and rotor combination needs before committing to an order.

Road Approval

This master cylinder has no ABE documented; it is intended for track and competition use.

Scope of Delivery

The box contains the Accossato radial brake master cylinder itself, assembled and ready to fit, together with its mounting hardware. A brake light switch is not included and can be ordered separately under part number ID001 or ID002. A fluid reservoir is likewise not included and is sold separately in several styles to suit different handlebar layouts.
