DescriptionThe whole story▼
Acceleration has been central to the Ducati Diavel since the first model, and the V4 engine that arrived for 2023 did nothing to change that. Sprint days on closed airfield strips are where many owners go to have it measured against the clock. Accossato lists the FC105 for this Diavel from 2023 to 2025, the limited editions of 2024 included. It is a quick-release cap whose body is machined wholly from aluminium, and its closing pawl carries a pin in one of six colours.
Key Features
- Quick-release fuel tank cap for the V4 Ducati Diavel, 2023 to 2025
- Accossato lists the limited editions of 2024 as well
- Made entirely of CNC-machined aluminium
- Quick-closing pawl for opening and closing the tank quickly
- Six pin colours: blue, green, black, red, silver, gold
- Pawl available as a separate spare
- No German ABE on record; for closed courses
Construction and Material Quality
Styling matters on a Diavel more than on most bikes, and Accossato has given the FC105 a new design that is meant to catch the eye. Beneath the looks, the cap is aluminium throughout, CNC-machined, which is the basis for Accossato's description of it as robust and durable. The quick-closing pawl speeds up opening and closing the tank. Its pin can be understated black or silver, or red, blue, green or gold if you want it to be seen. The pawl is also sold separately, should it ever be damaged.
Sprint Days on a Closed Strip
Sprint events run in pairs: two bikes line up, the lights count down and a timing system records reaction time and elapsed time over a set distance. Between runs there is plenty of waiting in the staging lanes, often in the sun, and most riders top up in the paddock rather than at a pump. Do it with the Diavel switched off and upright, away from the start area, with nobody smoking nearby. Fuel adds weight, so some riders run with less of it for their quickest times; if you do, check the level before every run instead of guessing. Close the cap carefully after each top-up and look at it again before you roll forward, because a bike that leaks fuel has no place on the start line. At the end of the day, let the engine cool and refit the original cap before the ride home.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the FC105 for the V4 Diavel, which its list calls the Diavel 1158, from 2023 to 2025, and names the limited editions of 2024 separately. Earlier twin-cylinder Diavels take different Accossato caps, so make sure you know which Diavel you have. Other bikes we list this cap for include the DesertX and the Panigale V4.
Road Approval
No German ABE or expert report is documented for this cap, so its place is the circuit or the sprint strip. Original caps normally lock, and for public roads the Diavel's own cap stays fitted.
