DescriptionThe whole story▼
Tight woods are hard work on a big enduro. On a Suzuki RMX450Z, threading between trunks that stand barely wider apart than the handlebar, the rider controls speed mostly with the clutch, slipping it to creep through a gap, then letting the engine pull cleanly on the other side. Misjudge by a hand's width and a bar end catches the bark; the bike stops dead and topples. Accossato's C7306 replaces the clutch lever of the RMX450Z from 2010 to 2017 with one milled from Ergal 7075 in Italy; its long blade has room for four fingers and can fold forward on a joint when the bike goes down.

Construction and Material Quality
In the woods the clutch lever is the control the rider touches most, so what it is made of matters. Accossato mills the C7306 in Italy from a solid block of Ergal 7075, one of the high-strength aluminium grades, to get a lever that is light without giving up strength or reliability. It comes in two main parts: a dark base that locates at the original clutch mount and carries the pivot, and a blade, black or gold, joined to it by a hinge so that it can fold. As a clutch lever it has a long blade, meant for all four fingers.
Between the Trees
Riding tight trees well is mostly about looking at the gaps rather than the trunks and keeping the bike moving at a steady crawl. On an RMX450Z, whose engine pulls strongly from low revs, the throttle is often held almost steady while the clutch does the fine work: in a little to slow for a gap, out a little to drive through it. A long blade the whole hand can rest on suits that kind of continuous small adjustment, particularly after a few hours in the woods, when the fingers begin to tire.
The typical fall in the trees is almost comical. A bar end or a knuckle touches a trunk, the bike swings round the point of contact and drops onto its side in a bed of leaves and roots. It is slow, but the clutch lever can still land on a root or a stone with the full weight of the bike above it. The joint on the C7306 lets the blade give way forward in that situation rather than snap, so there is a fair chance you can stand the RMX450Z up, pull in a working clutch and carry on to the next gap. Nobody can promise that the lever survives every such fall; the more often it does, the fewer repairs you make on the trail.
Fitment and Compatibility
For the C7306, Accossato gives the Suzuki RMX450Z of 2010 to 2017, with the lever fitted at the original clutch mount. The B8306 folding brake lever covers the same model years on the right side of the bar. Black and gold are the only colours for either lever, which makes a matching pair simple.
Road Approval
There is no German ABE on record for the C7306. An RMX450Z carrying a number plate is not approved for public roads with this lever; it is meant for off-road riding and enduro competition.
