Sprint Filter P08 Air Filter for Road & Track – Triumph Bonneville T100 (2017–2021) PM174S

This generation of the T100 was built from 2017 to 2021, which puts most of them well past the age at which owners start asking a harder question about spare parts: not what a service item costs, but whether it will still be on a shelf in five years. The PM174S answers that in an unglamorous way. It is not a T100 part. It is the element for the whole liquid-cooled Bonneville airbox, shared with four other machines that are still in production, and parts that feed five model lines do not quietly disappear. Fitted once, it is also the last one you buy: the Sprint Filter P08 is a dry woven polyester medium that is washed and refitted rather than replaced.

A family part, not a model part

Triumph designed one airbox around the liquid-cooled Bonneville twin and then hung five different motorcycles on it. A superseded model usually means dwindling stock and long order times for anything specific to it; here the specific thing is the badge on the tank, and the PM174S is not the specific thing. It is the part the current Street Scrambler on the showroom floor uses.

What a paper element costs over the years it stays fitted

A cellulose element is a consumable by design: it collects, it loads up, its restriction rises steadily between services and then the whole thing goes in the bin. The P08 changes the shape of that. It starts at a low restriction, it is returned to that restriction with an air line, and it is designed to last the life of the motorcycle.

Care and cleaning

Routine service is an air line: held to the clean side, blown outwards, so what the weave caught leaves the way it came in — ten minutes and the element is back in the airbox. A hard season earns more than that: lukewarm water with a mild detergent, rinsed until the water runs clear. Then open air until it is dry through, with no heat and no flame anywhere near it, and refit it dry. Nothing is oiled at any stage. The maintenance sheet for the PM174S is in the Downloads tab.
