DescriptionThe whole story▼
Ducati named the Pikes Peak versions of its Multistrada after the American hill climb, a mountain road full of hairpins, and the Multistrada 1260 S is at home on the European equivalent: a pass road that doubles back on itself again and again. In tight bends the feet do a surprising share of the steering. For the Multistrada 1260 S of 2018 to 2020, Accossato offers the FT102 touring footpeg, cut from aluminium on CNC machines, finished in black anodising offset by a red insert and given a notch that helps the boot grip.
Key Features
- Touring footpegs for the Ducati Multistrada 1260 S, 2018–2020
- Listed for S, S Touring and S Pikes Peak versions
- Aluminium shaped by CNC machining
- Black anodising offset by a red insert
- Notch for a surer grip of the boot
- Front or rear sets, each sold separately
- No German ABE on record; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
There is not much to explain about how the FT102 is made, and that is a good sign in a footpeg. Accossato machines it from aluminium, which keeps the surfaces true and the edges clean, then anodises it black and adds a red insert. The one feature with a job to do beyond looks is the notch: it holds the sole so that pressure you put through the peg goes into the bike instead of into a sliding foot. Rider and passenger pegs are sold separately under the same part number.
Uphill Hairpins, Slow and Steep
Uphill hairpins on a mountain pass are slow, tight and often much steeper on the inside than on the outside. On a big bike like the Multistrada 1260 S, the challenge is less about lean angle than about balance at low speed. Riding instructors teach a simple sequence: finish braking while the bike is still upright, choose a gear that pulls cleanly without snatching, turn your head to look through the bend to the exit, and press down on the outside footpeg as the bike leans in. Weight on the outside peg steadies the bike and helps the rear tyre bite, while your arms stay relaxed on the bar. A light touch of the rear brake can calm things further. All of this depends on the outside foot staying exactly where you put it while you press through it. With a notched peg, the ball of the foot holds even if the sole is slick with road dust. Practise the sequence on quiet bends before you tackle a busy pass on a summer weekend.
Fitment and Compatibility
For the Multistrada 1260 S, Accossato's list runs from 2018 to 2020 and takes in the S Touring and the Pikes Peak, versions for the US market, and Thai and Brazilian versions listed for 2018 and 2019. Fitting the pegs is a job for a workshop, which should work to Ducati's tightening values, use thread-locking compound where the service manual prescribes it and check that both foot controls, shift lever and rear brake pedal, still line up with your boots.
Road Approval
We have no German ABE or Teilegutachten on record for the FT102, so it is sold for track use. For public roads in Germany, the original footpegs of the 1260 S remain the approved choice.
