DescriptionThe whole story

A small machine's brakes are worked harder, relative to their size, than a superbike's. The N011 is one of the few ZCOO references whose two pads differ: ZRM-N011ZM-B at 96.7 by 42.0 mm beside ZRM-N011ZM-A at 77.0 by 42.0 mm. The N011 carries EX Race, the control-oriented of ZCOO's two ceramic mixtures.

Key Features

  • Quiet in normal use and low on dust, so the NINJA 300 does not pay for its brakes in wheel cleaning
  • Pad code ZRM-N011ZM-B, 96.7 mm long and 42.0 mm tall - a direct fit in the standard caliper
  • Shipped in ZCOO's own packaging with the ZRM-N011ZM-B code printed on it, so a repeat order needs no guesswork
  • Ceramic-sintered EX Race compound: on the NINJA 300 the braking force rises in proportion to lever pressure instead of snapping in
  • Ceramic sintering keeps the coefficient of friction stable across the temperature swing a NINJA 300 sees in a single descent
  • No bedding-in ritual: the N011 reaches its working friction level within the first few stops

Construction and Material Quality

Every ZCOO reference, the N011 among them, is built around one idea: keep the friction face flat. Sintering fuses the ceramic to the plate, which is what lets the N011 hold together where an organic pad has begun to break down. That is why the N011 holds a consistent contact patch deep into its service life.

Performance and Feel

There is nothing dramatic about the first squeeze of an EX Race N011, and that is deliberate. The compound lays a thin ceramic film on the rotor as it beds, which is why the Kawasaki NINJA 300 sees far less disc wear than a conventional sinter would cause. On a light machine the tyre sets the limit long before the N011 does, so consistency beats power.

Fitment and Compatibility

ZCOO's fitment data gives the N011 for the NINJA 300 built between 2013 and 2017. Before ordering, check that your caliper takes a pad of 96.7 mm length and 42.0 mm height. The N011 is a front pad only. The same N011 shape covers 13 further machines in the 2026 catalogue.

Road Approval

No ECE R90 type approval is documented for this pad. It appears neither in ZCOO's own catalogue nor on the European distributor's site, and no approval number is printed on the packaging data available to us. ZCOO itself describes the compound as suited to competition machines and road machines alike, but that is a description of the mixture, not a type approval. Until the distributor confirms an approval in writing, treat this as a track and competition part: in Germany a replacement brake pad without ECE R90 approval may not be fitted to a motorcycle used on public roads. Ask us before ordering if you need this clarified for your machine.
