DescriptionThe whole story

The Kawasaki KLE 500 spends more of its life loaded than empty. That is the job of the N007: 101.5 by 39.0 mm of ceramic-sintered material, 8.0 mm deep, in the Nissin caliper. On the KLE 500 that shape comes in EX Race, the mixture ZCOO sells for road, trackday and club racing rather than for sprint distance alone.

Key Features

  • Tested and specified for the 2026 model years of the Kawasaki KLE 500, not extrapolated from a neighbouring year
  • Forms a thin ceramic film on the rotor in use, so disc wear on the Kawasaki KLE 500 stays far below what a conventional sintered race pad causes
  • Wear stays even across the 101.5 mm of friction face rather than concentrating at the leading edge
  • Front axle only: ZCOO lists no rear pad under the N007 reference
  • No bedding-in ritual: the N007 reaches its working friction level within the first few stops
  • Fade-free past 600 degrees Celsius, the range a hard-worked KLE 500 front end reaches

Construction and Material Quality

The N007 is a racing part in the way it is made, not only in the way it is sold. Sintering fuses the ceramic to the plate, which is what lets the N007 hold together where an organic pad has begun to break down. That is why the N007 holds a consistent contact patch deep into its service life.

Performance and Feel

EX Race trades a little initial aggression for a friction level that does not move on the Kawasaki KLE 500. Force follows the KLE 500 lever from the first millimetre of travel rather than arriving in a step. Loaded and a long way from home, that consistency is the whole point on a KLE 500.

Fitment and Compatibility

For the Kawasaki KLE 500, 2026, on the Nissin fitment. Before ordering, check that your caliper takes a pad of 101.5 mm length and 39.0 mm height. The same N007 shape covers 70 further machines in the 2026 catalogue. The reference is a front pad; ZCOO lists no rear equivalent.

Road Approval

No ECE R90 type approval is documented for this pad. It appears neither in ZCOO's own catalogue nor on the European distributor's site, and no approval number is printed on the packaging data available to us. ZCOO itself describes the compound as suited to competition machines and road machines alike, but that is a description of the mixture, not a type approval. Until the distributor confirms an approval in writing, treat this as a track and competition part: in Germany a replacement brake pad without ECE R90 approval may not be fitted to a motorcycle used on public roads. Ask us before ordering if you need this clarified for your machine.
