The word racing on a label suggests a different kind of product. It is not one. The cloth on this page is the same dry polyester as the standard element for this airbox, supplied without oil, cleaned with the same air line, covered by the same two-year warranty and expected to stay with the motorcycle just as long. Two published figures change, and nothing else does: the aperture moves from 80 microns to 85, and the rated flow from 5,050 l/m²/sec to 15,000. Everything an owner physically does with the part is identical.
Key Features
- Dry woven polyester at 85 microns, rated to pass 15,000 l/m²/sec
- Never oiled at any point, in common with every medium in this range
- Slots into the series SRT 600 SX airbox — nothing cut, nothing remapped
- Roughly twice the filtering fabric of an ordinary performance element
- Retention measured at 95.22 % of 100-micron particles
- Regenerated with compressed air; two years of warranty from the purchase date
What does not change
It is worth listing, because the differences are so much shorter than the similarities. Material: unchanged. Frame and outline: unchanged, since both elements have to seal in the same housing. Absence of oil: unchanged, which means nothing can migrate downstream from either. Cleaning method: unchanged, an air line from the clean side. Warranty and expected life: unchanged. An owner who has serviced one of these will service the other without learning anything new, and that continuity is the reason the racing cloth is a straightforward thing to live with rather than a specialist commitment.
What the two figures are worth
They are worth what the riding does with them. A flow rating close to three times the standard element's is only drawn on where an engine can actually call for it, and Sprint Filter lists this cloth at close to three and a half times what the standard code asks — a relation that describes the intended buyer more precisely than any adjective. It should also be said plainly, because the category invites the opposite claim: a drop-in element does not make a standard SRT 600 SX noticeably stronger. Neither of the two figures above is a power figure, and neither cloth changes what the engine will do.
Care and cleaning
The cleaning routine is the one the standard element gets: compressed air on the clean face, moved outwards, so what the cloth stopped travels back out. Where a greasy film has formed, lukewarm water with a trace of mild detergent lifts it, and a full rinse follows. Nothing hot goes near it — no gun, no radiator, no flame — and the PM209S F1-85 is refitted dry and untreated once it has dried in moving air. The maintenance sheet sits under Downloads.
Fitment & Compatibility
The racing element for the QJ Motor SRT 600 SX, model years 2024 to 2026, one panel per machine. Five bikes across QJ Motor and Benelli take this code; confirm your model year against the list on this page before ordering.
