The facts.
DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Enduro exists to put distance between you and the last town: a nineteen-inch front wheel, longer travel, and a thirty-litre tank whose only purpose is range. A machine built around that idea is judged by what it makes you carry. Every consumable on board has to be either unnecessary or small, and the air filter is the one item that traditionally fails that test twice — it needs a spare, and the spare needs somewhere to live. PM127S removes both problems by being cleaned rather than replaced.
Key Features
- Dry cloth: no oil to pack, no oil to apply, no dose to get wrong at the roadside
- Around double the filtering area of an ordinary performance panel, which matters on long dusty days
- Cleaned with any air line, from a workshop compressor to a tyre inflator
- Takes the paper element's place in the standard box, with no modification and no remap
- Water-washable when the day has been genuinely bad
- Two years of warranty from purchase
Nothing to carry, nothing to apply
An oiled gauze looks like the obvious dust filter until you think through what servicing one on a trip actually involves: wash it, dry it completely, then re-oil it in the correct quantity and wait. That is a workshop procedure, and the field version of it is either skipped or done badly, with an over-oiled element pushing a film into a tract you cannot inspect. A dry weave has no step that can be performed wrongly. It comes out, it gets blown through, it goes back.
The consumable that runs out before the fuel
Fuel is the problem the tank already solved. Filter capacity is the one nobody plans for: a gravel road loads an element far faster than the odometer implies, and paper holds what it collects permanently. Two days into a route, a paper panel has silently become the limiting component and stays that way until a dealer appears. It should be said plainly that none of this adds power in the field or anywhere else — the point is that the restriction can be undone, repeatedly, with equipment found at any filling station.
Care and cleaning
On the road the whole procedure is an air line applied to the clean side and directed outward. At home, when the cloth has taken on more than air can shift, wash it in warm water with a mild detergent and rinse until nothing further comes away, then dry it in air alone — heat sources of any kind, flames included, destroy the medium. Refit it dry. The maintenance sheet is filed in the Downloads tab.
