Measure the old part against them before ordering. The reservoir takes the oil the shaft displaces as it enters the damper. A separating piston or bladder keeps nitrogen and oil apart; if it fails the damping goes with it. The reservoir holds the gas charge and the oil volume the damper displaces as the shaft enters it.

Original Öhlins Part

The alternative to a service part is usually a new damper, which is why this catalogue exists. The part is identical to what Öhlins fits in production — same supplier, same specification. Service parts are ordered per piece unless stated otherwise. The Öhlins exploded view names the number for each position; we can look it up if you do not have it.

Getting the Number Right

If the unit is already open, compare the dimensions below with the part in your hand before ordering 00512-02. dimension a 44 mm, dimension b 220 mm is what distinguishes this number from its neighbours in the range. The separating piston or bladder inside keeps gas and oil apart; if it fails, the damping goes with it. A soft reservoir usually means the bladder has failed rather than the gas leaked.

Fitting and Setup Service

Öhlins recommends that its units are serviced by an authorised centre. We are one: rebuild, revalve and setup all happen in our own workshop.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 00512-02

Category: Reservoirs

Dimension A: 44 mm

Dimension B: 220 mm

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/00512-02_60542d0d-3b98-4ee7-9fad-123db1f1392f.png?v=1788869468
