The 660 Grown Up
Triumph took the new 798 cc triple that appeared in the Tiger Sport 800 and put it in a naked roadster. The result sits between the Trident 660 and the Street Triple, which is a space the company had left empty for years and which its dealers had been asking about for longer.
Why Three Cylinders Still Matter
Almost every rival in this class uses a parallel twin because it is cheaper to build and easier to certify. Triumph has kept the triple as a point of difference, and the engine's spread of torque combined with the noise it makes is what most owners cite when asked why they chose one.
A Cockpit Fully in View
Naked motorcycles are judged partly on their handlebar area because there is nothing else in front of the rider. A component milled from solid changes that impression more than its size suggests, which is why cockpit parts are replaced early on bikes like this.
No Protection at All
Without a screen or fairing, rain arrives at the switchgear at road speed and stays there. Sealed switch elements inside a body with no moulded joint are the practical answer, and the standard assembly offers neither.
Universal Holes
Both master cylinder clamp geometries are accepted, so a later brake change does not require the switch to be reconsidered. On a model this new, that flexibility is worth more than usual.
A First-Year Machine
The Trident 800 arrives in 2026 and almost nothing exists for it yet. Parts developed for the bike rather than adapted from the 660, which uses a different engine and loom, are the ones worth having.
