DescriptionThe whole story▼
The R nineT roadster puts its front end on show: a round headlight, two round clocks and, between them and the fork tubes, the top yoke. The steering stem nut sits right in the middle of that picture. The Gilles ACMA replaces it with an anodised aluminium 7075 nut in black, blue or red.
Key Features
- M28 x 1.0 thread
- Not for rear wheel or swingarm axles (Gilles)
- Aluminium 7075, anodised
- Patented pin-interlock anti-twist lock, taken over from the ACM axle nut
- Colours: black, blue or red
- No registration required, according to Gilles
Thirteen years, three types
Gilles lists the ACMA for the R1ST of 2013 to 2016, the 1N12 of 2017 to 2020 and the RN12 from 2021. The nineT was sold as a bike to personalise, and this is one of the smallest changes an owner can make, fully reversible and visible every time the key goes in.
Road Approval
Gilles marks the ACMA as free of registration on the BMW R NINET. The nut is a direct replacement, and nothing is entered in the vehicle documents.
Scope of Delivery
One ACMA-28-10 steering stem nut in your chosen colour.
Fitting
The ACMA replaces the nut on the top yoke. Tighten it to the torque the motorcycle manufacturer specifies for the steering stem nut and check the steering for free movement afterwards. If you are unsure, let a workshop do it.
