DescriptionThe whole story▼

The current generation of the Kawasaki ZX-10 R, built from 2016 to 2026, is a litre superbike that plenty of owners also use for long days in the mountains. This front pad set from Accossato, reference AGPA106, comes in the Sintered mixture and is aimed at exactly that rider: someone who crosses alpine passes, sometimes carries a tank bag or a pillion, and cannot choose the weather on the day of the tour.

Key Features

  • Front pads AGPA106 for the Kawasaki ZX-10 R, 2016 to 2026
  • Sintered mixture, SKU AGPA106ST
  • Grip that Accossato describes as steady whether the pads are cold or hot
  • Holds its bite on wet tarmac
  • Consistent lever feel on long descents
  • Suited to touring loads and two-up riding
  • Also sold on this plate as EV1, EV2 and ZXC
  • No ABE on file with us; intended for track use

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato's claim for this compound is a grip level that stays high and changes little between a cold morning start and a hot braking zone, together with dependable friction when water is on the disc. On the ZX-10 R that matters most at the front, where almost all of the stopping happens. The Italian maker also points to slow wear, resistance to fade through controlled heat build-up and a strong stopping effect.

Passes, Rain and a Second Rider

A pass descent asks a lot of a front brake: dozens of stops in a row, each one from a moderate speed, with the pads never quite cooling down. A pillion and luggage push extra weight onto the front wheel as well. The Sintered pad is designed for that kind of repeated work, and its behaviour in the damp means an afternoon shower on the far side of a col is less of a worry. Riders who keep their ZX-10 R on the road through spring and autumn tend to value the fact that the pad feels the same at the first bend as at the last.

On a long tour, look at the pads at every fuel stop now and then, and check the fluid level window before the steepest descents.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists AGPA106 for the front of the ZX-10 R from 2016 to 2026, including the Special Edition of 2018 to 2022. Earlier bikes from 2008 to 2015 take AGPA109 instead, and the matching rear set is AGPP39. Accossato discs DK235 and DKS041 are catalogued for this model. The ZX-10 R carries two front calipers, so a full change needs two boxes.

Road Approval

We do not hold an ABE or any German test certificate for AGPA106ST. It is therefore offered for racing and competition use.

Scope of Delivery

Two Sintered front pads, enough for one caliper.
