DescriptionThe whole story▼

Rain on a mountain road, a loaded top box and a passenger who trusts you: that is the scene the Sintered version of the AGPA108 has in mind. Accossato lists this front pad for the Honda VFR800X Crossrunner of 2015 and 2016, the upright V4 crossover that plenty of owners use for long tours in every season. The Sintered (ST) mixture is aimed at riders who keep going when the weather turns and who want the lever to feel the same on a cold wet morning as on a warm afternoon.

Key Features

  • Front brake pads for the 2015 and 2016 Honda VFR800X Crossrunner
  • Article AGPA108ST in Accossato's Sintered mixture
  • Grip stays high and even whether the brake is cold or hot
  • Designed to hold on well when the disc is wet
  • Suits two-up touring and fully packed luggage
  • A box contains the pair needed for one caliper
  • No German ABE provided; sold for competition use

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato's claim for the Sintered face is consistency. The company says it keeps a high level of grip at low and at high temperatures alike, and that it bites well in wet conditions. For a touring rider that means fewer surprises: the pressure you learned on the first dry morning is the pressure you need after an hour of drizzle. Like every pad from the Turin area firm, founded in Moncalieri in 1969, the set is also built for good stopping power, slow wear and restrained heat, so fade stays in check on long descents.

Autumn Passes With a Pillion

Late in the year the Alps and the Dolomites turn damp and cold, and wet leaves gather on the inside of hairpins. A crossover like the VFR800X Crossrunner is often the bike that still goes out then, with panniers fitted and a partner on the back seat. Extra weight means more work for the front brake on every downhill bend, and a mixture that does not change character with temperature lets you judge each stop by feel. The same goes for motorway rain, where spray covers the disc for hours at a time.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato gives the AGPA108 for the front of the Honda VFR800X Crossrunner in model years 2015 and 2016. From 2017 to 2018 the front calls for AGPA250 instead. The rear axle uses AGPP55 for the whole span from 2015 to 2018. With two calipers at the front of the Crossrunner, a complete change takes two boxes. Should your riding become mostly urban, the AGPA108 shape is also available as Organic. Before fitting, clean the pistons, look at disc thickness and fluid level, and bed the new pads in with some firm but calm stops.

Road Approval

Our records contain no ABE or approval certificate for the AGPA108ST, so this pad is supplied for racing and closed-course use.

Scope of Delivery

Two Sintered AGPA108 pads, the complete lining for one front caliper.
