DescriptionThe whole story▼

The four-cylinder engine of the Yamaha FZ1 Fazer loves to rev, and on a good road many owners ride it with real enthusiasm. For them, Accossato makes the AGPA97 front pad in EV1 street/track compound. Accossato says EV1 gives excellent grip for road riding and amateur circuit use. It is listed for the FZ1 1000 Fazer from 2006 to 2016, and it suits a rider who wants a sharper front brake for fast roads and the occasional track day.

Key Features

  • Accossato AGPA97 front pad, EV1 street/track
  • For the Yamaha FZ1 Fazer, 2006-2016
  • Accossato: excellent grip for street and amateur track use
  • Firmer, more immediate bite for sporty riding
  • Copes with the heat of an open track day
  • Two pads per box for one front caliper
  • Siblings: OR, ST, EV2, ZXC

Construction and Material Quality

EV1 is the compound Accossato designed for fast road riders who sometimes visit a circuit. The manufacturer's description emphasises excellent grip in both settings. It shares Accossato's general aims: slow wear, heat managed to limit fade and strong deceleration.

Fast Roads on a Big Four

On a twisting road, an FZ1 Fazer arrives at corners quickly, and the front brake is used hard and often. A pad that gives a firm, direct bite the moment the lever is pulled makes it easier to brake precisely. EV1 is designed for that, while still working at the lower temperatures of a public road. If you take the Fazer on an open track day, it handles the extra heat better than a touring pad. Bed it in during the first laps and watch the fluid afterwards. For racing, Accossato offers EV2 and ZXC; for commuting, OR.

Fitment and Compatibility

The Accossato catalogue gives AGPA97 as the front pad for FZ1 1000 Fazer models of 2006 to 2016; at the back, AGPP88 is listed. With one caliper on each side of the wheel, a set for the whole front axle is two boxes. Pads should always be changed in pairs across the axle. Before the pistons are pushed home, clean away the dust and dirt around them; before the first ride, work the lever until the travel is short and hard. Then give the new pads a proper bedding-in on a quiet road before you ask for full power from them. It pays to check the fluid after a track day too.

Road Approval

Our records contain no ABE or German test documents for AGPA97EV1; it is intended for competition use.
