DescriptionThe whole story▼
Some riders choose a 125cc two-stroke not because they are young but because it teaches them to ride well. The Sherco SE 125 does not cover a clumsy line with a burst of torque. It asks you to pick a line, brake precisely and carry speed through the corner, and so braking technique becomes the foundation of everything else. Accossato's B8282 takes the place of the original front brake lever on the SE 125 from 2018 to 2022. Milled from solid Ergal 7075 in Italy and sized for three fingers, it has a joint that allows its blade to fold forward in a fall.
Key Features
- Folding front brake lever for the Sherco SE 125 two-stroke, 2018 to 2022
- Replaces the stock lever on the original front brake master cylinder
- Joint lets the blade fold forward in a crash rather than break off
- Short blade, laid out for three fingers
- Machined in Italy from a solid block of Ergal 7075
- Blade in black or orange, base in a dark finish
- No German ABE; for off-road and competition riding
Construction and Material Quality
For the B8282 Accossato takes Ergal 7075, an aluminium alloy of high strength, and mills the lever from the solid on CNC machines in Italy. Three aims stand behind that choice: strength, low weight and reliability. The lever you receive has two elements, a dark base on the pivot of the master cylinder and a blade finished in black or orange, the two held together by a folding joint. On the brake side Accossato keeps the blade to the shorter of its two off-road lengths, which suits three fingers.
Learning to Brake Standing Up
On a 125 enduro much of the riding happens standing on the pegs, and that includes braking. The usual advice is to keep the elbows up and the weight back, grip the bike with the knees, and apply the front brake smoothly so the fork compresses progressively instead of diving. Three fingers rest on the lever while the rest of the hand holds the grip, a position that gives control without pulling the upper body forward over the bars.
Learning this means making mistakes. You squeeze too hard on a loose surface, the front locks, and before you can react, the Sherco SE 125 is lying on its right side. At low speed the brake lever takes the brunt, often against the only stone in the field. The B8282 gives its blade a way to fold forward in falls like this, instead of breaking off at the first contact. That is a chance rather than a guarantee, but for someone learning on a Sherco SE 125, a lever that still works after a mistake keeps the lesson going instead of ending it early.
Fitment and Compatibility
According to Accossato, the B8282 fits the Sherco SE 125 two-stroke from 2018 to 2022, and the C7283 folding clutch lever is listed alongside it for those years. The brake lever is made in black or orange only, while the clutch lever comes in black, blue, orange or red, so black or orange gives a matching pair.
Road Approval
No German ABE exists for the B8282. On an SE 125 registered for the road it is not approved for public roads; it is intended for off-road riding and competition.
