DescriptionThe whole story▼
Cruisers are often ridden in company. On a club run or a weekend outing with friends, a line of bikes rolls along at a steady pace, bunching up at junctions, stretching out on open roads and stopping together at traffic lights. Riding in a group brings frequent small changes of speed, and much of that is done with the clutch. Accossato's ESK750 is a machined aluminium clutch lever for that work on the Kawasaki Vulcan S of 2015 to 2020, with a reach you can set and three blade lengths to choose from.
Key Features
- Clutch lever for the Vulcan S, listed 2015 to 2020
- Fits the original clutch mounting
- Adjustable reach
- Long blade for a lighter pull; standard (about 138 mm) and short also available
- Black hub, blade in one of seven anodised colours
- Machined aluminium
- No hinge in the blade
- Packed in an Accossato box
Construction and Material Quality
In a row of cruisers, most of the shine comes from chrome and paint. The ESK750 takes a different route. It is machined from aluminium on CNC equipment and anodised, which colours the metal's own surface rather than coating it, so the finish has no layer that could lift, peel or bubble. The black hub, with the pivot and the reach adjuster, keeps the part next to the switchgear discreet, and the blade shows the colour. There is no hinge: the lever is a single fixed piece, which gives the same take-up at the start of a ride as at the end.
Riding in a Group
In a group you cannot choose your own rhythm. The leader sets the pace, gaps open and close, and a slow queue at a roundabout can bring the whole line to a crawl. The rider who controls speed precisely at low speed, letting the clutch slip gently instead of snapping it in and out, keeps a steady gap to the bike in front and stays relaxed, while the rider who cannot must brake, stop and restart far more often. On a Vulcan S that precision comes from the left hand, and it depends on the lever sitting where the fingers have the most control. Set the ESK750 so that the friction point falls within the natural closing range of your fingers. The long blade reduces the effort of each pull, which adds up over a long club run; the short blade suits riders who keep two fingers on the lever. And if the group rides under a colour, the blade can match it.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's entry for the ESK750 on this bike reads Vulcan S 650, 2015 to 2020. The lever takes the place of the stock one on the original clutch mounting. The EDF021 brake lever covers the Vulcan S for longer, from 2015 to 2023. The Café version of the Vulcan S has its own product.
Road Approval
Absent a documented German ABE, the ESK750 is sold by us for circuit use.
