15,000 l/m²/sec is a rate per square metre of cloth. It is a property of the material and says nothing on its own about how much air reaches this engine, because that depends on how much cloth the housing holds. The airbox of the Tesi H2 Tera was not drawn around a filter specification and cannot be made larger. So an owner controls two terms: which medium fills the frame, and how much material is folded into it — and Sprint Filter's answer to the second is roughly double the area of a usual performance element.
Key Features
- Dry woven polyester in the racing F1-85 specification, used without oil throughout
- Rated 85 microns and 15,000 l/m²/sec — a rate per square metre of medium, not per airbox
- Around twice the filtering cloth of other performance elements in the standard panel format
- Measured retention of 95.22 % of 100-micron particles against 93.13 % for the P08
- Direct replacement for the paper panel in the series airbox: nothing cut, no remapping
- Cleaned with compressed air and refitted; two years of warranty from the date of purchase
Rate, area, and a housing that cannot grow
Multiply a rate per area by an area and the result is a quantity; leave either term out and the figure means nothing at the machine. The area here is fixed by the box, which is why folding more material into the same frame is the one lever anybody still has. It is also why ranking media by flow figures alone is half an argument: two elements in one housing share an area, so the rate does separate them, but no rate tells you whether the filter was ever the narrowest point in the intake.
Deciding without leaning on the number
That last point is the useful one. On a standard machine the panel is one restriction among ducting, throttle bodies and everything downstream of them, and it is rarely the one that sets the limit — which is why an element in an unmodified airbox does not make a standard motorcycle noticeably stronger. What a racing medium reliably changes is the maintenance regime it assumes: inspection between sessions rather than between services, with a wider weave paid for in the meantime. If that regime is not part of how this Tera is used, the standard P08 in the same housing is the better answer.
Care and cleaning
Dry throughout, and quick. Compressed air from the clean face outward is a complete service in normal use, and the PM153S F1-85 can be refitted at once afterwards. When it has been soaked, lukewarm water with a mild detergent and a rinse until the water runs clear, followed by a full dry in moving air — heat of any kind, from a gun, a radiator or a flame, ends the element. Put it back dry and untreated, seated evenly in its frame. The maintenance sheet is in the Downloads tab.
Fitment & Compatibility
Cut for the airbox of the Bimota Tesi H2 Tera built from 2020 to 2026. Three machines share this code: the Tera, the Tesi H2 and the Kawasaki ZX1000 Ninja H2 of 2015 to 2026, each listed with its years in the Fitment tab. The same housing carries the standard P08, and the 7-micron T12 for the two Bimota models.
