DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Yamaha XJ6 was sold from 2009 in more versions than most riders can name: naked, half-faired, fully faired, with and without ABS, and with the Diversion name attached to some of them. It was a machine bought for sensible reasons and, being cheap and durable, it is now bought for a further sensible reason, as a first circuit bike. Accossato lists the XJ6 from 2009 to 2015 under the FC124, a quick-release fuel tank cap machined from aluminium with the pawl in a choice of six colours.
Key Features
- Quick-release fuel tank cap for the Yamaha XJ6, 2009 to 2015
- Accossato lists the N, the S, the F Diversion and the ABS versions
- Machined entirely from aluminium on CNC equipment
- Quick-closing pawl for opening and shutting the tank quickly
- Six pin colours: blue, green, black, red, silver, gold
- Pawl available separately as a spare
- Find the entry that matches your version before ordering
- No German ABE documented; a part for the circuit
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato takes aluminium, works it on CNC machines and stops there, which is the basis of its claim that the cap is robust and durable; the design is new. The quick-closing pawl replaces the fitting that has to be turned and aligned, so the XJ6's tank can be opened and closed with one hand each way. Colour is carried by the pin inside the pawl, six shades, chosen when the order goes in. If the pawl is damaged, Accossato supplies a new one by itself instead of a complete cap.
N, S, F and Diversion
Six separate lines in the application list stand behind this one product. There is the XJ6-N of 2009 to 2011 and its ABS version running to 2015, the XJ6-S of 2009 to 2011, the S Diversion of the same years and the F Diversion of 2010 and 2011 in two forms. Read as a group they give the span shown here, and read individually they show how carefully a manufacturer records what it has tested. For a buyer the lesson is simple enough: identify your version before you order, using the registration document rather than the badge, and if the designations do not seem to match anything on the list, ask us. Guessing between six similar lines is how the wrong part ends up in a parcel.
Fitment and Compatibility
The entries for this cap cover the XJ6 versions listed by Accossato between 2009 and 2015. The same FC124 is catalogued at Inter-Pace for the FZ8, the FZ1 Fazer and the MT-07. Please check the application list against your own machine before ordering, and write to us if anything is unclear.
Road Approval
Accossato documents no German ABE and no parts certificate for the FC124, so it goes out for closed circuits. The XJ6 keeps its standard cap on public roads, which normally opens with the ignition key.
Scope of Delivery
