DescriptionThe whole story▼
Team endurance races put one motorcycle in the hands of several riders. A Husqvarna FE 350 entered in a six-hour relay may be ridden by three friends in turn, each with a different style, different hands and different ways of falling off. On the 2017 and 2018 FE 350, Accossato's C7284 takes over the clutch side. Milled in Italy from Ergal 7075, it has a long blade for four fingers and folds forward on a joint, which helps when one bike has to survive everyone's mistakes.
Key Features
- Folding clutch lever for the Husqvarna FE 350, 2017 and 2018
- Takes the place of the stock lever at the original clutch mount
- Long four-finger blade
- Anti-break joint lets the blade fold forward in a fall
- Milled from solid Ergal 7075 in Italy
- Blade in black, blue or orange
- No German ABE documented; off-road and competition only
Construction and Material Quality
Splitting a lever into two parts is what makes it foldable, and the C7284 is built that way. Its dark base mounts on the pivot of the FE 350's original clutch control; its blade, in black, blue or orange, meets the base at a joint that lets it fold forward. Accossato machines both from solid Ergal 7075, a high-strength aluminium alloy, on CNC equipment in Italy, aiming for a lever that is strong, light and reliable. As a clutch lever it has the longer of Accossato's two blade shapes, made for four fingers.
Shared Between Riders
In a relay the bike never really rests. One rider comes in, the next takes over within seconds, and the machine goes straight back out with hot oil and whatever damage the last stint left behind. Teams soon learn which parts need attention at each change: fuel, chain, air filter when time allows, and a quick look at the levers. A bent clutch lever is a nuisance for the rider who bent it; for the next rider, who never felt it happen, it is a lever in the wrong place, and that can cost the team time.
The C7284 addresses part of that problem. When the FE 350 goes down on its left, the blade can fold forward at the joint and be put back afterwards, so there is a good chance that the next rider finds it where it should be. A heavy crash may still damage it, and the pit crew should still check. The long blade also leaves each rider room to place their fingers in their own way, which matters when the same lever has to suit several pairs of hands over a long race.
Fitment and Compatibility
According to Accossato, the C7284 fits the Husqvarna FE 350 of 2017 and 2018, taking the place of the stock lever at the original clutch mount. For the FE 350 of 2014 to 2016 the listed clutch lever is the C7283. The B8283 folding brake lever is listed for the full span from 2014 to 2018. Brake and clutch lever share black, blue and orange, so a team can run the same colour on both sides.
Road Approval
The C7284 has no documented German ABE. Even if your FE 350 is road-registered, this lever is not approved for public roads and is meant for off-road and competition use only.
