DescriptionThe whole story▼
Year-round commuters on small bikes know the trick: a pair of bar muffs, the padded covers that wrap round the grips and levers, keeps the wind off the hands and allows thinner gloves through the winter. On a Kawasaki Z125 used every day they are a practical addition, but they also change the space the left hand works in. The Accossato ESK025 is a clutch lever for the Z125 of 2019 and 2020. Machined from aluminium and anodised, it replaces the standard lever at the original clutch mounting, and its span can be adjusted to suit the room inside the muff.
Key Features
- Clutch lever for the Kawasaki Z125, 2019 and 2020
- Replaces the stock lever at the original clutch mounting
- Adjustable span, adjuster next to the pivot
- CNC-machined aluminium, anodised in seven colours
- Black hub on every version
- Standard length about 138 mm; short and long blades in selected colours
- Rigid lever with no folding joint
Construction and Material Quality
Machining leaves tight tolerances where a clutch lever needs them, above all at the pivot bore, which decides whether a lever swings smoothly or with a slight wobble. The ESK025 is produced on CNC machines, so every piece comes out consistent in shape. Anodising follows, leaving the hub black and the blade in one of seven colours; since the colour grows from the aluminium surface, it does not flake. The whole lever is rigid, one part from the adjuster to the tip.
Inside a Pair of Bar Muffs
Bar muffs enclose the lever, so the hand operates it inside a pocket of fabric. Two things follow. Because the hands stay warmer, you can wear thinner gloves than winter would otherwise demand, and a lever set for thick gloves will then feel too far away. And the muff itself limits how far the fingers can open. Setting the ESK025's span a little closer to the grip for the muff season solves both: the fingers reach the blade without stretching into the fabric, and the clutch can still be pulled fully home. Check this with the muffs fitted, sitting on the Z125, and make sure the lever returns freely without catching on the lining. In spring, when the muffs come off and summer gloves go on, set it again. The short blade, made in every colour except black and red, is the most compact option inside a tight muff.
Fitment and Compatibility
The ESK025 is offered for the Kawasaki Z125 of 2019 and 2020 and fits the Z125's original clutch mounting. Accossato's own entry, Z 125, reaches further back than that; those earlier years are not part of this product, because this Z125 only arrived for 2019. The EDF025 brake lever covers the same two model years, if both hands are to get the same treatment.
Road Approval
The ESK025 carries no documented German ABE and is sold for the track.
