Four Sprint Filter media are catalogued for this airbox and they do not cover the same machines. The P08 is listed against fourteen, the racing weave against thirteen, the P14 against eleven — and this T12 against six. The 200 Duke is one of the six, though it is there because it shares a housing with two Adventures, not because it shares their work. Worth knowing before fitting the finest medium in the range: 7 microns and 560 litres per square metre per second, where the P08 filters at 80 and passes 5,050.
Key Features
- Sprint Filter's finest medium: dry polyester nonwoven, 7 µm, 560 l/m²/sec
- Roughly one ninth of the P08's passage per square metre — retention paid for with flow
- Oil-free for its whole life, so nothing tacky sits upstream of the throttle body
- Sits in the unaltered airbox where the paper element was; no modification, no remap
- Regenerated with compressed air, not thrown away; two years of cover from purchase
- Catalogued for six machines here, against eleven for the P14 and fourteen for the P08
What the short list says
Nobody publishes the reasoning behind a fitment table, but the shape of this one is legible enough. The faired RC models and the whole Husqvarna side of the family are not offered this medium at all; what remains is four Dukes and the two Adventures built to leave the tarmac. A 200 Duke is in that group by virtue of its airbox. Whether it belongs there by virtue of its use is a question about your roads.
The step before this one
For this bike there is a middle setting, which is more than the Adventures get. The P14 is a dry nonwoven at 14 microns and 1,800 litres per square metre per second — a large gain in retention over the P08 at about a third of its passage rather than a ninth — and Sprint Filter lists it for the 200 Duke. If the complaint is gritty air and dusty roads rather than genuine off-road use, that is where the argument ends. Whichever goes in, the benefit is described the same way: no drop-in element makes a standard 200 Duke measurably quicker, since its displacement and the licence category it was built inside set that ceiling. What changes is a restriction below a paper panel's, recoverable by washing rather than surrendered a little at a time.
Care and cleaning
In the ordinary case the service is a compressor and two minutes: air applied to the clean side of the PM200T12 and worked across the face until the dust has been pushed back out the way it came in. Heavier loads want hand-warm water with a mild detergent, rinsed until it leaves clear. Nothing hot goes near the fibres afterwards — no heat gun, no oven, no flame — so open air and time do the drying, and the element is refitted dry. The maintenance sheet is in the Downloads tab.
Fitment & Compatibility
Made for the KTM 200 Duke, 2020 to 2026, taking the standard element's place in an unmodified box. This code covers six machines, all KTM: the 125, 200, 250 and 390 Duke with the 250 and 390 Adventure. Check the year against the code — the Fitment tab lists all six.
