DescriptionThe whole story▼
The wide version of the rear hugger. It is the same idea as the standard part at a slightly higher price, and the only thing that decides between them is what tyre is on the back of the motorcycle.
Key Features
- Wider than the standard hugger, article MD-V418-C11
- Swingarm mounting on the original points
- Autoclave-cured carbon, six versions
- Streetfighter V4, 2020 to 2024
Measure the Tyre, Not the Model
Ducati fits a 200-section rear to this motorcycle, but Streetfighters get ridden hard and re-shod often, and a wider cover exists because plenty of them end up on something broader. The standard hugger over a wide tyre leaves an uncovered strip at each edge, which is exactly where the spray comes from.
Look at the sidewall before ordering. If the number there is what left the factory, the standard part is the right one; if it is larger, this is.
Fitting is identical to the standard hugger: a few fasteners on the swingarm with the motorcycle on a rear stand. Compress the suspension fully afterwards and check the clearance at both edges of the tyre rather than only in the middle.
Keep the part it replaces. A hugger is one of the first things a buyer asks about when a used Streetfighter changes hands, and a standard one in a box is worth having.
