DescriptionThe whole story▼
An underbelly full system that keeps the centre stand, the engine guards and works with Yamaha's automated Y-AMT gearbox — that combination is unusual, and it is what makes this exhaust realistic for a Tracer 7 that gets ridden all year rather than only on dry Sundays. The Akrapovic Racing Line (Stainless Steel) S-Y7R13-HKGKHSS is Euro 5+ compliant and EC/ECE type approved.
Key Features
- Underbelly layout: the muffler sits below the engine, so 2.2 kg comes off low and central rather than from the tail
- 28.6 per cent lighter than the standard system
- Formed from high-grade stainless steel as one unit, with the catalytic converter inside the header
- Handmade carbon fibre cover with honeycomb exhaust protection and the Akrapovic logo in red and white
- Fits together with the original Yamaha centre stand and engine guards
- Also fits machines equipped with the Y-AMT automated transmission
- Euro 5+ compliant, EC and ECE type approved, plug-and-play with no remapping
Practical Before Loud
Most complete systems on a mid-size Yamaha force a choice: the exhaust or the centre stand. This one does not. Akrapovic routed it so the standard stand and the engine guards both stay, which on a Tracer 7 used for commuting and touring is worth more than another decibel.
The Y-AMT compatibility matters for the same reason. Yamaha's automated gearbox is spreading across the MT-07 range, and an exhaust that ruled those bikes out would rule out a growing share of the market.
A Note on the Figures
Akrapovic publishes no structured dyno record for this part. The numbers above — 2.2 kg and 28.6 per cent, a gain of 0.8 kW (1.1 hp) at 9,200 rpm and 0.6 Nm at 8,500 rpm, measured against a standard MT-07 on the in-house dyno — come from the manufacturer's own product text. They are stated here as such rather than presented as verified measurement data.
Stainless Steel, and Why That Is the Right Choice Here
Most Akrapovic Racing Lines are titanium. This one is high-grade stainless steel throughout, and that is a deliberate match to the motorcycle rather than a cheaper substitute. An MT-07 is bought as an everyday machine, often as a first big bike, and stainless takes road salt, gravel rash and a dropped bike better than a thin titanium wall does.
It also keeps the price of a complete system within reach on a bike in this class. The trade is weight: stainless is heavier than titanium, and the figures on this page are the honest result of that choice rather than a titanium number quoted for a steel part.
Fitment and Compatibility
S-Y7R13-HKGKHSS covers the Yamaha MT-07 and FZ-07 from model year 2021 and the Tracer 7 and Tracer 7 GT from 2020, through 2026. The system arrives as one welded unit including the header.
Road Approval
EC type approval and ECE type approval, Euro 5+ compliant, with the certificates supplied and downloadable here. Because the catalytic converter sits inside the header, nothing leaves the emissions path.
