DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Yamaha XT1200ZE SUPER TENERE is the version of Yamaha's big adventure twin with electronically adjustable suspension, listed by Accossato from 2014 to 2019 together with the Raid Edition of 2018 and 2019. Plenty of these bikes serve as comfortable all-rounders that rarely leave the tarmac. For that owner Accossato makes the AGPA97 front pad in its Organic compound, SKU AGPA97OR: a quiet, gentle option for smooth riders who want their front discs to last.
Key Features
- Organic (OR) front pad, SKU AGPA97OR
- Yamaha XT1200ZE SUPER TENERE, 2014 to 2019
- Raid Edition 2018 to 2019 included
- Accossato: long service life, low disc wear
- Smooth, unhurried lever build-up
- Two pads per box, one set for one caliper
- Rear pad AGPP121 listed for the same years
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's description of its Organic compound is simple: it keeps performing for a long time and limits wear on the disc. For an XT1200ZE SUPER TENERE ridden calmly on sealed roads, that is a practical combination, because the front discs of a heavy tourer are not a cheap part. We do not describe the pad's ingredients and stick to what Accossato says.
Suburbs, Ring Roads and Weekend Loops
Most kilometres on a comfortable adventure bike are unspectacular: the ring road to work, a suburban shopping trip, a relaxed Sunday loop to a lakeside café. That riding needs a front brake that starts softly and builds in proportion to the lever, so a heavy bike can be stopped precisely at a junction without a jolt. The Organic pad suits riders who plan ahead and brake early on their XT1200ZE SUPER TENERE. If you tour heavily loaded in rain, the ST version fits better; EV1, EV2 and ZXC are also offered.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato catalogues AGPA97 for the front of the Yamaha XT1200ZE SUPER TENERE from 2014 to 2019, and names the XT 1200 ZE SUPER TENERE RAID ED. for 2018 and 2019. The XT1200ZE SUPER TENERE brakes with two front discs and two calipers, so two boxes are needed to renew the whole front. For the rear, Accossato's AGPP121 covers the same years. Before fitting, measure what is left on the old pads, run a fingernail across each disc to feel for ridges, and look at the fluid colour in the reservoir.
Road Approval
Accossato has not supplied us with an ABE or any test certificate for this pad, so it is sold for racing and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
Supplied as two Organic pads in one box, a set for one caliper.
