DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Honda CRF230F is an air-cooled four-stroke trail bike with an easy-going nature, and it suits adults returning to off-road riding after a long break: people who rode as teenagers and then spent twenty years on other things. For this bike Accossato lists its B8206 folding front brake lever in the model years 2003 to 2009 and 2019. It is machined in Italy from Ergal 7075, and the blade is connected to its base in a way that lets it fold forward when the bike goes down.

Construction and Material Quality
Riders who first rode off-road in the 1980s may know the Accossato name from enduro; the Italian company won an enduro world title in 1985. Today it machines levers such as the B8206 on CNC equipment in Italy, cutting them from solid Ergal 7075, a high-strength aluminium alloy chosen to make the part strong, light and reliable. The lever has two parts: a dark base that sits on the master cylinder pivot and a blade in the colour you pick, joined so that it can fold. The blade is short and sized for three fingers, in line with Accossato's brake levers.
Back on Dirt After Years Away
Coming back to off-road riding after a long gap is humbling. Balance returns quickly, confidence less so, and braking is where old habits and an older body disagree. Many returning riders arrive with years of road riding behind them, where the front brake does most of the work on grippy tarmac. On dirt the front tyre has far less grip to give, and a hard squeeze on loose ground or wet grass can tuck the front in an instant. A CRF230F is a forgiving bike to relearn on, but it still asks for patience: brake earlier and more gently with the bike upright, and let the rear brake do more than it ever did on the road.
The first sessions back almost always include a fall or two. They tend to be undramatic: a slide at low speed, a foot that misses the ground, the bike on its side in the dirt with its rider more embarrassed than hurt. What turns such a harmless fall into the end of the day is often a broken lever. The B8206's joint lets the blade fold forward when it strikes the ground, giving it a chance to survive where a solid lever might snap; push it back into place and ride on. That is not a promise for every fall, but for a rider rebuilding confidence, a day that continues after a spill does more good than one that ends early.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's application list names the CRF230F in two separate entries: the model years 2003 to 2009 and the single year 2019. The years 2010 to 2018 are not listed for this lever, so on a CRF230F from that period its fit is not confirmed. Where it is listed, the B8206 replaces the stock lever on the original front brake master cylinder. The C7103 folding clutch lever covers the same years, in black or red.
Road Approval
No German ABE is documented. The CRF230F is an off-road trail bike, and the B8206 is supplied for off-road use away from public roads.
Scope of Delivery
The delivery is the B8206 brake lever alone, its blade in black, blue, gold or red.
