DescriptionThe whole story▼
Shaped by decades of Italian racing heritage and proven at the highest levels of MotoGP, WSBK and the Italian Championship, the TK Dischi Freno SSP 6.0 brake disc kit brings genuine competition pedigree to your Yamaha YZF-R6. Every disc is manufactured and tested in Italy to exacting racetrack standards, with a finish and construction that reflects the brand's motorsport roots — right down to your choice of inner carrier colour.
Key Features
- Designed and tested for track use: engineered to the same standards as discs supplied to professional racing programmes across MotoGP and WSBK.
- Angled drilling technology: the specially angled holes increase material removal versus conventional drillings, reducing rotating mass and unsprung weight at the front axle for sharper, more responsive handling.
- Homogeneous heat distribution: tested results show approximately 20% temperature reduction compared to standard discs, directly combating brake fade under sustained hard braking.
- Extended brake pad life: the optimised hole geometry cleans pad surfaces progressively without sacrificing braking power, reducing running costs over a season.
- Improved wet-weather confidence: the drilling pattern promotes water evacuation for more consistent bite in damp or changeable conditions.
- Reduced brake effort: dynamometer and on-track testing confirm that less lever pressure is required to achieve equivalent deceleration compared to OEM discs.
- Personalised finish: the inner carrier colour is freely selectable — hard anodised, black, red or blue — to complement your YZF-R6's livery.
Italian Craft, Racing DNA
TK Dischi Freno produces every disc exclusively from high-grade certified materials, sourced and processed entirely within Italy. The SSP 6.0 line takes its name from the 6.0 mm disc thickness — a specification commonplace in Supersport-class racing — and the construction philosophy mirrors what the brand supplies to professional teams. The angled bore pattern is not merely aesthetic: it is the product of engineering analysis aimed at balancing mass reduction, thermal management and structural integrity simultaneously.
Performance on Road and Track
The reduction in rotating mass at the front wheel translates into measurable handling benefits: turn-in response sharpens and the front end feels more communicative under trail-braking. The homogeneous heat distribution keeps disc temperatures more consistent lap after lap, preserving pad compound integrity and reducing the risk of fade during prolonged track sessions. On the road, the same properties deliver progressive, confidence-inspiring braking feel in everyday riding conditions.
Important Fitment Note
Please verify that your brake caliper is compatible with 6.0 mm thick brake discs before ordering. Some aftermarket or OEM calipers are dimensioned for a different rotor thickness. If in doubt, contact Inter-Pace before placing your order.
Please also note that red and blue colour options carry an extended lead time compared to hard anodised and black variants.
