The stainless collector from Spark's full R1 system, sold on its own. Sixty-five millimetres of primary diameter, four cylinders into one, and no catalytic converter anywhere in it — the piece that does most of the work in a full system, without the silencer you may already own.
Key Features
- AISI stainless steel D.65 racing manifold for the Yamaha R1 and R1M.
- Replaces the standard headers and eliminates the catalytic converter.
- Takes any of Spark's D.65 silencer groups.
- Around five hundred and seventy euros less than the titanium manifolds.
- Supplied without a silencer.
- 2015 to 2025 model years.
Buying the Collector Separately
Two situations make this sensible. The first is a staged build: the collector is the expensive, permanent half of a full system, and silencers get changed when a series changes its noise rule or when a crash takes one out. Buying the collector first and choosing the silencer later is a rational order of operations.
The second is an upgrade from a 3/4 kit. If you already run a Spark D.60 kit and want the flow of the full D.65 system, this is the part that gets you there — and your existing silencer may well carry over, depending on which one it is.
Why Diameter Is the Headline
Spark names its R1 products by collector diameter rather than by model name, and the numbers run D.54, D.60 and D.65. That ordering is the product range: a larger primary bore raises what the top end can flow and moves the torque peak up the rev range. D.65 is the racing end of it, developed with teams in international championships.
The trade is the one every race exhaust makes. More top end, less low-down flexibility, and a mapping requirement that a standard ECU calibration will not satisfy.
Stainless Instead of Titanium
Spark builds this manifold in both. Stainless costs a great deal less, weighs a few hundred grams more, and is more tolerant of the abuse a manifold actually takes — stone chips off the front wheel, pressure washing, the occasional paddock stand in the wrong place. For a bike that is not chasing a class weight limit, the case for stainless in the hottest, most exposed section of the exhaust is a strong one.
Fitment & Compatibility
Yamaha R1 and R1M, 2015 through 2025. The titanium equivalents are GYA8880R in the STEP2 specification and GYA8894R in the EWC specification. Complete with a Force Evo silencer this manifold becomes GYA8881T.
Road Approval
None. The manifold removes the catalytic converter, which rules out road use on its own regardless of the silencer behind it.
