Needle geometry sets the shape of the adjustable range, not just its size.

Key Features

Original Öhlins service part

Öhlins part number 05665-22

Function

This position is identified by its number rather than by a dimension. Jets meter fixed bleed flow and are sized in tenths of a millimetre. Replacing a piston is a workshop job because the shim stack has to be rebuilt in the correct order. The seat face has to be flat enough for the first shim to seal against it.

Original Öhlins Part

Öhlins supports units that are decades old, which is why the spare parts list runs to thousands of numbers. This is an original Öhlins part, not an aftermarket equivalent — the tolerances are the ones the unit was assembled to. Öhlins parts are unit-specific: a close dimension is not a substitute. If you are unsure which number your unit takes, send us the model and serial number of the damper and we will look it up.

Getting the Number Right

Öhlins identifies this position by the number 05665-22 in the exploded view for the unit it belongs to. Öhlins does not publish a dimension here — go by the number and the exploded view. Öhlins uses a piston band rather than metal-to-metal contact, which is what keeps the bore intact. Valves and needles set the adjustable part of the damping; the piston sets the rest.

Fitting and Setup Service

Ask us about a full service: as an authorised Öhlins centre we strip, inspect, replace what is worn and set the unit back to its specification.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 05665-22

Category: Valves

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/05665-22_e1e41857-61a9-4ad2-83ea-013b4d765975.png?v=1788874494
