DescriptionThe whole story▼

Not every RSV4 1100 owner bought the Factory trim; the standard RSV4 1100, built since 2021, shares the same steering head, which means it can run the identical GP top yoke Melotti built after years of trackside work with race teams. On a bike that was never the flagship to begin with, dropping around 100 grams from the plate above the forks, close to 200 grams below Aprilia's own original fitting, is one of the more direct ways to close the gap to a Factory-specification front end without buying a different bike.

Key Features

  • GP top yoke for the Aprilia RSV4 1100, Melotti part PS.AP.509P
  • Machined from aluminium alloy on CNC machines with 3D technology
  • Reworked lower geometry saves around 100 grams over the standard yoke
  • Close to 200 grams lighter than Aprilia's original fitment
  • Finished weight of only 330 grams
  • Vernier scale for clip-on opening angle adjustment
  • Retains the original seagull-wing profile
  • Black anodised finish, stainless countersunk screws included

Construction and Material Quality

Melotti machines the yoke from aluminium alloy on CNC equipment with 3D milling, bringing the finished part down to 330 grams, roughly 100 grams less than its earlier yoke and close to 200 grams under Aprilia's standard fitting for the RSV4 1100. The weight comes off through a reworked lower geometry rather than a flatter or simpler shape, so the original seagull-wing profile stays intact, and a vernier scale is still cut into the clip-on brackets for a precise, repeatable opening angle. Stainless countersunk screws are included, and the yoke is finished in black anodising to match the rest of the RSV4 1100's cockpit hardware.

Closing the Gap to Factory Spec

The standard RSV4 1100 and the Factory version share enough underneath that a yoke built for one bolts straight onto the other, which means an owner of the standard bike does not have to accept a heavier front end just because their model name is shorter. The weight this yoke removes sits directly above the steering head, exactly where it has the most effect on how quickly the front tyre responds to small inputs, and on a bike used for trackdays or club racing that response is one of the more noticeable differences between the two trim levels. Fitting the GP yoke is a way to bring a standard RSV4 1100's front end a meaningful step closer to what the Factory carries from new.

Fitment and Compatibility

Melotti builds this GP yoke for the standard RSV4 1100, sold since 2021, and the Factory version uses the identical part, so the fitment does not depend on which trim is being upgraded. It replaces the Road top yoke, PS.AP.509S, rather than sitting alongside it, while Melotti's RBS brake system (RBS.AP.509) mounts independently and can be added to either.

Road Approval

There is no German ABE, no component certificate and no EC type approval for this yoke. Melotti builds it for racing and closed-circuit use only; riding an RSV4 1100 fitted with it on public roads in Germany is not permitted without a separate entry, and any race meeting applies its own organiser's rules on top of this.
