DescriptionThe whole story

The Akrapovic Racing Line for the Yamaha YZF-R7 is a full exhaust system shaped by decades of motorsport heritage and refined into a road-legal, Euro 5-approved package. Stainless steel headers flow into a hexagonal titanium slip-on silencer capped with a carbon fibre end cap — a combination that speaks immediately to the engineering language Akrapovic has built its reputation on, and one that transforms both the look and the character of the R7 from the moment it leaves the stand.

Key Features

  • Weight saving of 0.7 kg over the standard system (stock: 7.6 kg / Akrapovic: 6.9 kg)
  • Power increase of 2.0 PS, reaching 71.7 PS at 8,700 RPM (stock: 70.4 PS)
  • Torque gain of 1.1 Nm at 5,000 RPM for sharper mid-range response
  • Sound level of 85.9 dB at 3,875 RPM — a 0.4 dB reduction versus the 86.3 dB stock system, delivering a purposeful racing note without excess
  • Euro 5 compliant and road-legal — no compromises required for everyday use
  • Includes catalytic converter, carbon fibre heat shield(s), and dB killer

Design, Finish and Heritage

Akrapovic has been supplying exhaust systems to MotoGP, WorldSBK and WSS factory teams for over three decades, and that lineage is visible in every detail of the Racing Line. The 2-into-1 header is fabricated from V4A-grade stainless steel with a lambda connection for seamless ECU integration, while the hexagonal silencer canister is constructed entirely from titanium — body, internals and all metallic components — before being finished with a hand-laid carbon fibre end cap. The result is a system that looks as deliberately engineered as it performs, complementing the angular lines of the YZF-R7 with a finish that no standard exhaust can match.

Performance on Road and Track

The Racing Line is conceived for riders who want measurable improvements in real-world riding, not just on a dyno sheet. The gain of 2.0 PS and 1.1 Nm of additional torque, both validated by Akrapovic's own testing, translates into a more responsive throttle from the mid-range through to the top of the rev range. Because the system is 0.7 kg lighter than the original, the benefit is felt in handling balance as well as outright acceleration. Euro 5 approval means the system can be used on public roads across Europe without restriction, while the included dB killer provides additional versatility for circuits with strict noise limits.

Fitment and Compatibility

This system is designed and tested specifically for the following motorcycle:
