DescriptionThe whole story▼
Two conditions, both stated by Akrapovic and both worth reading before ordering: this header fits the 2025 M 1000 RR only in combination with the original Akrapovic silencer BMW fits from the factory, and remapping the ECU is mandatory rather than recommended.
Key Features
- Newly designed titanium oval flanges, cast in Akrapovic's own foundry
- Made from the finest titanium
- Fits ONLY with the original Akrapovic first-fit silencer
- Remapping is mandatory
- Turns the slip-on into a full system
- No road approval — circuit use only
The First-Fit Silencer Condition
BMW fits an Akrapovic silencer to the M 1000 RR from the factory. Akrapovic states this header works in combination with that silencer — not with an aftermarket one, and not with a different Akrapovic part.
If your M 1000 RR still wears its original exhaust, that is exactly what the header expects. If it has already been changed, ask us before ordering.
Mandatory, Not Recommended
Most Akrapovic headers carry a note recommending a remap for best performance and durability. This one says remapping is mandatory. That is a different sentence, and on a 212 PS engine the difference matters.
Budget the dyno session as part of the purchase. Fitting this header without one is not something Akrapovic supports.
Oval Flanges From Their Own Foundry
Akrapovic casts the titanium flanges in-house rather than machining them from bar. An oval port shape follows the head's exhaust exit more closely than a round one, and casting is what makes a shape like that affordable to produce at all.
The same foundry casts the titanium footpegs elsewhere in this catalogue. It is unusual for an exhaust manufacturer to own one.
No Published Figures
Akrapovic records no weight, power or torque for this part number. Given the mandatory remap, a single dyno figure would describe one particular map rather than the header — and we would rather report the gap than publish a number that means less than it appears to.
An EU-Specification Note
Akrapovic adds that the product was developed and tested on EU vehicle specification, and that fitment and performance may vary outside the EU. For a machine bought new in Germany, that caveat does not apply.
The Most Expensive Header Here
At this price it costs more than most complete systems in this catalogue. That is what titanium, cast oval flanges and a production run measured in hundreds rather than thousands come to.
A 212 PS Engine
BMW's M 1000 RR is the most powerful motorcycle in this catalogue, and it is homologated for World Superbike. An exhaust component for it is engineered against a specification most road parts never have to meet.
Read Both Conditions Together
The original silencer must stay, and the ECU must be remapped. Neither is optional, and a buyer who meets one but not the other has an expensive part that Akrapovic will not support.
If you are unsure whether your M 1000 RR still carries its factory Akrapovic can, the part number is printed on the sleeve. Send it to us and we will confirm before the order goes out.
Road Approval
None. This product does not meet emission compliance requirements for street or highway use.
