DescriptionThe whole story▼
Woodland does most of its damage at low speed. The front wheel drops into a rut, the bar swings, and one end of it catches a trunk that was never more than a hand's width away. The rider usually steps off unhurt and the 200EXC is usually undamaged apart from one thing: the lever on the side that met the tree. Accossato covers the left-hand side of this bike with the AGS17, a silver clutch lever in the shape of the original, listed from 2009 to 2016.
Key Features
- Clutch lever of the original type for the KTM 200EXC
- Accossato's entry runs from 2009 to 2016
- Silver
- Left-hand lever, clutch side
- An original spare parts type rather than a tuning part
- Accossato reports increased resistance after damage or collisions
- Supplied as one lever
- No German ABE or test mark; for racing and competition
Construction and Material Quality
The AGS17 is described by its maker as an original spare parts type, and that phrase carries the whole idea. The blade follows the form of the clutch lever the 200EXC was delivered with, so a rider who has owned the machine for years notices nothing after the repair, which on a bike ridden by feel through trees is the entire point. Accossato built the range to keep an ordinary repair at an ordinary price and states that its production method leaves the levers more resistant once they have suffered damage or a fall. Silver is the listed colour. Accossato publishes nothing further, so nothing further is asserted.
Between Two Trees
Tight woods are where small enduro bikes earn their reputation, and where levers are lost in ways that have nothing to do with speed. The usual sequence takes a second: a front wheel deflects off a root, the bar turns further than the rider intended, and the end of it meets a trunk while the machine is still upright. On a narrow trail there is no room to ride out of it. What happens next depends on how the cockpit was set up. Rolled-forward perches, left free enough to move, generally give and can be pushed back by hand at the side of the track. A perch clamped rigidly in place will hold, and the blade takes everything. Either way, the check afterwards is the same and worth doing before you ride on: look along the bar from the front to see whether it is still symmetrical, make sure the lever swings freely through its whole travel without catching on the housing, and take hold of the blade and feel for play at the pivot. A lever that rattles at the pivot after a hit has usually taken a bend that the eye cannot see, and on a bike with a hydraulic clutch that shows up as a biting point that has quietly moved. Carry one spare blade in the tool roll and this stops being an incident at all.
Fitment and Compatibility
On Accossato's list the AGS17 is the only original-type lever named for the 200EXC, covering 2009 to 2016 on the clutch side, and no original-form brake lever is catalogued for this model. The same code serves many machines from the same family and is listed with us for the Husqvarna FC 250, the Husqvarna FE 501 and the Husqvarna TE 300, so one spare can cover two bikes in the same van. Riders who prefer a tuning part will find Accossato's CNC levers for the 200EXC under B8283 and C7284.
Road Approval
There is no German ABE and no test mark for the AGS17 in our files, since Accossato provided no approval papers, and the lever is therefore offered for racing and competition.
