DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Panigale 1199 offers three riding modes, and one of them is called Wet. Most owners hope they will rarely need it, yet a sunny ride that ends in a cloudburst catches out everyone sooner or later. On a soaked road the rear brake becomes more useful than usual: a light, steady pressure helps to settle the bike while the front is used with extra care. Accossato's TS012 is a machined aluminium cap for the rear brake fluid reservoir of the Panigale 1199, available in seven anodised colours.
Key Features
- Rear brake fluid reservoir cap for the Ducati Panigale 1199
- Accossato application list: 2012 to 2017, ABS version included
- Takes the place of the cap on the standard rear reservoir
- Machined from aluminium, then anodised
- Choice of seven colours: blue, green, black, orange, red, silver, gold
- Can match the FP004 oil cap and TS003 front cap
- No German ABE on file; for circuit use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato produces the TS012 from aluminium on CNC machines and anodises it afterwards, which is where the colour comes from. For the rear reservoir it is offered in blue, green, black, orange, red, silver or gold. The cap is made for the reservoir that Ducati fitted as standard, so everything else on the rear brake of the Panigale 1199 is left untouched. When the old cap comes off, give the diaphragm or seal under it a close look, and replace it if it has hardened or torn before the new cap goes on.
Home in the Rain
Riding a Panigale 1199 home through heavy rain is mostly a matter of calm inputs. Switch to Wet before the road is soaked, leave more space than usual and use the rear brake gently alongside the front to keep the bike steady when slowing for junctions and roundabouts. Once you are home, the bike needs attention before any cap is touched. Let it dry, then wipe the top and surroundings of the rear reservoir with a clean cloth, because water and dirt sitting there are exactly what must not get inside; brake fluid draws in moisture, and wet air around an open reservoir is the last thing it needs. Fitting the TS012 is therefore a job for a dry evening. Stand the bike upright so the reservoir is level, protect the surrounding paint with a cloth and keep water handy to wash off any drop. Check that the level lies between the marks, fit the new cap without leaving the reservoir open longer than necessary, tighten it with a light hand and press the pedal several times before the Panigale 1199 leaves the garage again. On the next ride, the first gentle stop tells you that all is as it was.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's list gives the TS012 for the rear reservoir of the Panigale 1199 from 2012 to 2017, with a separate entry for the ABS version of 2012 to 2014. The cap takes the place of the original, and the application list is the reference for fit. We also carry the same TS012 for the Diavel 1260, the Hypermotard 950 and the DesertX. The FP004 oil filler cap and the TS003 front reservoir cap complete Accossato's range for this bike, and every colour of the TS012 is available for both of them.
Road Approval
No ABE and no test mark have been documented for the TS012, so we supply it for racing and competition purposes.
