DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Z1000 R Edition is the version of Kawasaki's big naked four for riders who want more from its brakes and rear suspension than the standard bike offers. Accossato ties this cap to particular years of it, and with a bike like this it pays to know exactly which year yours is. That is not always the year printed on the registration papers. For the Z1000 R Edition of 2022 and 2023, Accossato lists the FC113, a quick-release cap for the fuel tank, CNC-machined in aluminium, with six colours for its pawl pin.
Key Features
- Quick-release fuel tank cap for the Kawasaki Z1000 R Edition, 2022 and 2023
- Accossato entry: Z 1000 R Edition, 2022 to 2023
- Made entirely of CNC-machined aluminium
- Robust and durable in Accossato's description; new design
- Quick-closing pawl with a pin in blue, green, black, red, silver or gold
- Pawl can be replaced separately
- No German ABE documented; for the track
Construction and Material Quality
The FC113 comes entirely from CNC-machined aluminium, which Accossato considers robust and long-lived, and its look is new. On the Z1000 R Edition it opens by a quick-closing pawl, and the same pawl shuts the tank again in one short movement. Its pin can be ordered in six colours. Should that pawl ever bend or break, Accossato can supply it by itself, so the complete cap does not need replacing.
Model Year or Registration Date?
A motorcycle's model year and the date of its first registration are two different things. A bike can stand in a showroom for months before it is sold, and one built for a particular season may reach its first owner a year or more later. The registration papers show when the bike first went on the road; the model year depends on when, and for which season, it was built. With the Z1000 R Edition, where the years on Accossato's list decide which cap applies, it is worth checking both. The frame number is the reliable reference, and a Kawasaki dealer can tell you from it exactly which version and model year you have. If you bought the bike used, look through the service booklet and the original sales documents as well. Once you are certain, compare the result with the application list, and if anything is still unclear, send us the frame number before ordering rather than after.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the FC113 for the Z 1000 R Edition with the years 2022 and 2023, and this product follows that entry. At Inter-Pace the same cap is also found under the Z1000SX and the Z800. Other years of the R Edition do not appear with this cap on Accossato's list, so check your bike's details before you order.
Road Approval
The FC113 has neither a German ABE nor a documented parts certificate and is therefore meant for the track. On public roads the Z1000 R Edition keeps its factory cap, which normally locks with the ignition key.
Scope of Delivery
One Accossato FC113 fuel tank cap, pin colour as ordered. The pawl is also available as a separate spare.
