DescriptionThe whole story▼
Some Yamaha MT-07s lose their mirrors and number plates, gain a set of paddock stands and spend their weekends in a pit garage. For those bikes Accossato offers the AGPA97EV2, a front pad for the MT-07 from 2014 to 2026 in the EV2 racing compound. It is meant for a rider who counts sessions rather than miles, who brakes at the same marker lap after lap in qualifying, and who wants the lever to feel the same at the end of a race as at the start.
Key Features
- Front pads for the Yamaha MT-07, model years 2014 to 2026
- Article AGPA97EV2 in Accossato's EV2 racing compound
- Described by Accossato as a top racing compound
- For race weekends, qualifying and timed practice
- Two pads per box, one set for one caliper
- The MT-07 front has two calipers, so two boxes are needed
- The AGPA97 shape also comes as OR, ST, EV1 and ZXC
- No German ABE available; intended for circuit and competition use
Construction and Material Quality
EV2 is where Accossato's range moves fully onto the circuit. The company calls it a top racing compound and says little more, which is fair enough: the material exists for repeated maximum stops, not for cold commutes. It shares the AGPA97 backing shape with the rest of the family, so fitment on the MT-07 is identical. What changes is the friction material itself, which, like every Accossato compound, is intended to resist fade by keeping heat in check.
Hard Markers and Timed Laps
A race weekend is a sequence of short, intense demands. Free practice is spent finding braking markers, qualifying asks for the latest possible stop into the first corner on a single flying lap, and the race itself adds the pressure of other bikes around you. Throughout, the front pads on a track-prepared MT-07 are hammered from speed to apex again and again, with only the straights to cool off. The EV2 compound is meant for that rhythm. Between sessions, use the time in the pits to look at pad wear and check for any glazing, keep the discs clean, and note how the lever travel changes as the fluid gets hot. Racing fluid that is changed regularly makes a real difference here, as does a lever that is bled and firm before the bike goes out.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato specifies the AGPA97 for the front brakes of the Yamaha MT-07 over the 2014 to 2026 span, and the AGPP88 for its rear caliper. There are two front calipers on the MT-07, so a full set requires two boxes, fitted at the same time. Retract the pistons only after cleaning them, check that both discs are within limits, and bleed the system with fresh fluid before a race meeting. The DK077 and DKS073 discs are listed by Accossato for this model too. Bed the new pads in during the first session before pushing to the limit.
Road Approval
Our records contain no German ABE and no test documents for this pad, so the AGPA97EV2 is offered solely for use on circuits and in competition.
