Measure the old part against them before ordering. A separating piston or bladder keeps nitrogen and oil apart. The reservoir takes the oil the shaft displaces as it enters the damper. A separating piston or bladder keeps nitrogen and oil apart; if it fails the damping goes with it.

Original Öhlins Part

Öhlins is one of the few suspension makers that still supplies every position in the exploded view as a single part. Öhlins publishes dimensions for its service parts so a workshop can verify before it fits. The Öhlins exploded view names the number for each position; we can look it up if you do not have it. Where a number has been superseded, Öhlins states the replacement — we pass that on.

Getting the Number Right

The reliable route is the exploded drawing: find the position, read the number, order it — 00403-06 in this case. Öhlins states dimension a 49 mm, dimension b 115 mm for this number, and those figures are the deciding ones. The separating piston or bladder inside keeps gas and oil apart; if it fails, the damping goes with it. Öhlins pressure-tests hoses because they carry the full gas charge.

Fitting and Setup Service

A damper rebuild is workshop work: it needs the unit dismantled, the shim stack rebuilt in the correct order and the gas charge reset. We are an authorised Öhlins service centre and do exactly that in house — send us the unit or ask us to fit the part with your order.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 00403-06

Category: Reservoirs

Dimension A: 49 mm

Dimension B: 115 mm

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/00403-06_b54e7a52-a377-45f1-8e3b-97f0a1eab36e.png?v=1788869289
