DescriptionThe whole story▼
A ribbed shield around the outer face of the front brake disc, on the fork leg. It shields the rotor from the side impacts that end a day of riding.
Key Features
- Shields the outboard face of the front rotor
- Autoclave-cured carbon, raw
- Moulded ribbing for stiffness
- Mounts to the fork leg, clear of the caliper
- KTM 300 EXC, 2018 to 2023
The Failure This Prevents
A front rotor is a thin steel disc spinning in open air. A branch through the wheel, a rock kicked up by the rider ahead, or a fall onto a stone edge bends it, and a bent front disc means a pulsing lever and a pad that drags until the wheel comes out.
In the middle of a forest that is not a repair, it is a recovery. The protector is there to keep an ordinary incident from becoming that.
Check the Gap, Then Check It Again
This part lives millimetres from a rotating brake disc. Confirm clearance with the fork fully compressed, the wheel turning and the brake applied. Anything that touches will make itself heard, and it should be fixed before the first ride rather than in a field.
Fitment and Compatibility
KTM 300 EXC, model years 2018 to 2023, with the original front brake and fork.
Road Approval
Fullsix publishes neither an ABE nor an EC type-approval number for this part. Anything mounted near a brake deserves a second opinion before road use.
Fitting
Torque carefully and re-check after the first ride. A guard that works loose beside a spinning disc is worse than no guard at all.
