DescriptionThe whole story▼
Many Kawasaki ZX-10 R bikes from the 2008 to 2015 era are now in the hands of second or third owners who ride them all year and park them outside. For those earlier models Accossato makes the AGPA109 front pad, and this version uses the Sintered mixture. It suits someone who wants a front brake that stays predictable in October drizzle, on wet leaves and on cold roads before the sun has dried them.
Key Features
- Front pads AGPA109 for the Kawasaki ZX-10 R, 2008 to 2015
- Sintered mixture, SKU AGPA109ST
- According to Accossato, grip stays high at low and high temperatures
- Keeps working on a wet disc
- Even pressure point through the whole season
- A sound choice when renewing pads on a used bike
- Also on this plate: EV1, EV2 and ZXC
- No ABE in our records; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
In Accossato's words the compound keeps a strong and constant level of grip across the temperature range and still bites when the disc is wet. Put simply, the first stop on a chilly morning and the tenth stop on a warm afternoon should feel alike. The manufacturer adds that the material wears slowly, resists fade because it limits heat and delivers firm deceleration.
An Older Superbike Through All Four Seasons
An earlier ZX-10 R that is used as a year-round machine lives a harder life than a garage queen. Salt, grit and rain reach the calipers, and the pads spend long spells cold before they are asked to work. The Sintered set is built for that routine: it does not need heat to perform, and damp does little to its bite. When you buy a used ZX-10 R, fresh pads are one of the cheapest ways to know exactly what the front brake is doing.
Before the first ride with new pads, clean the pistons with brake cleaner and a soft brush so they slide back freely, then pump the lever until it is firm.
Fitment and Compatibility
This set is listed by Accossato for the front of the ZX-10 R from 2008 to 2015. From 2016 onwards the bike takes AGPA106. The rear pad AGPP39 is catalogued from 2011, so owners of 2008 to 2010 bikes should check their rear pad separately. Discs DK235 and DKS041 are also listed for the ZX-10 R. With twin front calipers, the bike needs two boxes for a complete change.
Road Approval
No German ABE or test mark is available to us for AGPA109ST, so we sell this set for use on closed circuits and in competition.
Scope of Delivery
