On a long tour the road changes its character several times a day, and the front tyre notices each change before the rider does. KTM built the 1290 Super Duke GT for exactly that kind of riding: the V-twin from the Super Duke R, a fairing with an adjustable screen, room for luggage and a riding position that still works after hours in the saddle. Accossato's EDF099 takes over from the stock front brake lever. It is machined from aluminium, its distance from the grip can be set to your hand, and it covers the 2016 to 2024 model years.

Construction and Material Quality
Aluminium stock goes into a CNC mill and comes out as the EDF099, with its outline, its pivot bore and the seat of its adjuster identical from one lever to the next. Anodising follows. The process turns the outer skin of the aluminium into a hard oxide layer and seals the dye inside it, which is why the colour copes with the evening routine of a tour, when insects come off the screen, the mirrors and the levers with a wet sponge. Every hub is black; the blade wears whichever colour you order. Nothing hinges between the two, so on the Super Duke GT the lever stays rigid from pivot to tip.
A Different Road Surface Every Hour
A single day on the Super Duke GT can start on smooth motorway asphalt, cross a mountain pass patched with strips of bitumen and end on the polished paving of an old town where the hotel is. Each of those surfaces grips differently, and the difference shows first under braking. On worn, shiny tarmac, or on sealing strips softened by the afternoon heat, the front tyre gives less warning than on a clean, dry road, and a hurried squeeze can use up the available grip before you register it. What helps is a brake application that begins gently and then builds with purpose, and that starts at the lever. When the blade sits where your fingers curl naturally, the opening part of its travel is easy to meter, even in thick touring gloves at the end of a long day.
Fitment and Compatibility
This lever fits the 1290 Super Duke GT from 2016 to 2024. Accossato's fitment data begins a little earlier, but the GT only went on sale as a 2016 model, so that is where this product starts. It sits on the bike's own master cylinder and leaves the rest of the brake system as KTM supplied it. On the left of the bar, the ESM011 clutch lever is the partner part for the Super Duke GT, covering 2016 to 2021, with the same black hub and the same choice of colours.
Road Approval
This brake lever has no German ABE on file. For that reason we sell it for use on closed circuits.
